FBI Director Kash Patel ordered the polygraphing of more than two dozen former and current members of his security detail, as well as other staff, and has been described as being in panic mode to save his job and find leakers among his team, according to two people briefed on the development.

Patel walled himself off from some senior bureau leaders this week after multiple media reports raised red flags about his leadership, according to three people familiar with his recent actions. Two of the people told MS NOW that the director ordered the polygraphing this week of former and current security detail members, as well as several information technology staff.

The director has also avoided meeting this week with some key operational leaders of the bureau, the people said, raising concerns inside the FBI about Patel’s ability to stay abreast of pressing threats and investigations in order to make the best decisions.

He's an idiot if he believes a polygraph show anything other than that the victim might be nervous. Polygraph is a scam. But he's an idiot even without believing that.

I've taken three polygraphs in my life, and I lied on all three. Not only did the polygrapher not catch the lies, all three accused me of lying about things I had been truthful about. By the third one, I was just fucking with the guy. I figured I didn't owe him any respect, he knows what he does is a scam.

I'd never take a polygraph if my freedom was on the line.

Polygraphs don't work, all they do is measure physiological changes

Yes but...This is an administration staffed entirely by people who know nothing about their jobs except what they've seen on TV and the movies. Zero doubt that Kash thinks it's a magic lie detector.

i bet you could do a reverse of that scene in the wire where they've got a guy hooked up to a photocopier that is printing out the word "lie"

I bet they look at pictures on computer screens and demand "enhance!".

This is what always happens with fascism.

Because the entire movement is predicated on excusing the incompetence of ones self and placing blame on another. The immigrant, the jew, the trans kid: Its always someone else's fault. Its also why these regimes inevitably collapse inward, because eventually the circle of the circular firing squad gets smaller, and smaller, until.. well.. you know.. Hitler's bunker and all that.

Lol so fucking embarrassing. Imagine how this chapter of life is gonna look in 20 years when Trump is gone and your legacy is no more than a page in the comedy section of history books.

Only US governments still believe polygraphs actually work. I bet they get consulted by Scientology.

This is what happens when "loyalty" (as ill-defined as it is) becomes the most important metric for employees, because the Commander-In-Chief is a mob boss.

Theyre all lying to you kash, the entire bureau. Everyone waits til you leave the room and they all break out laughing.

"He thought he was fired and locked out of his computer...he had caps lock on"

This would really work to make him crazy... well, crazier. And it has the added advantage of almost certainly being true.

change the keyboard layout to something close, but not quite so it's all off.

Surely this will discourage further leaks and not make the staff hate him even more

[-] spongebue@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

DrunKash was probably one of those sources

[-] Bwaz@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

He leaked just before a blackout, doesn't remember now.
