I’ve heard a lot that I should be more concerned about my skin care; specifically that I should be moisturizing and applying sunscreen regularly. What brands/suppliers should I be looking at especially for someone on a bit of a budget?

I use CeraVe for my face every day, but I think it would be pretty expensive to use full body. I’ve similarly heard a lot of good things about cocoa butter and korean sunscreen but trying to research things is hard with ai ruining the internet.

Honestly I've been asking myself the same question. I'm using some almond oil for my skin. Supposedly it's suppose to hydrate my skin help to prevent stretch mark.

At this point I don't really know.

I've been gravitating towards two brands for skin care: The Ordinary and Prequel. They're both relatively inexpensive and fairly straightforward. I wash my face with a gentle cleanser (right now it's Prequel Gleanser) and apply moisturizer (The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Phytoceramides) and sunscreen (Prequel's physical sunscreen, I forget the name). Swap those out as you see fit, but that's a basic routine. If your skin is dry, maybe apply twice a day.

If you want to grow from there, find a toner you like and apply it before the moisturizer. Finding a good one takes time, because it takes a while to make a difference. That gows on at night, ideally.

As for body, the basics are very similar, but people usually find different products for their body. Because face skin is more sensitive, face prodicts are usually more expensive.

There is a lot of variety in products, so you might try a few products before you find what you like, but it's so nice when you find it.

Some of my affordable favorites~

Face Moisturizers

  • La Roche Posay triple repair cream
  • Illiyoon Ato cream

Face SPF (after trying so many)

  • Medicube No Cast Just Glow

Body

  • La Roche-Posay Lipikar Urea 10%
    • Try finding ones with Urea, it'll make your skin sooo soft

Body SPF

  • La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen
    • I'm honestly still searching for a favorite body SPF, but this one has worked well enough for me

For brands that are well regarded and on the more affordable side (and that I've personally tried and had success with) - CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, The Ordinary, Cosrx, Medicube, Anua, Round Lab, Skin1004, Etude.

I moisturize with a homemade lotion. It's really simple to make. Shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, almond oil. I just do equal parts and put it in a double boiler until it's all liquid.

I use that everywhere, even in my hair as a deep conditioner. I will never buy store bought again.

I should definitely be using SPF though 🤔
