I don't think it has. I think media is saying it has.

[-] biofaust@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Maybe because you are on Lemmy, and probably other bubbles?

[-] CMLVI@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

It's possible, but feels unlikely, at least in my specific situation. I would wager I am the only person I know on Lemmy. Friends have similar political views, but then some family do not, still comes up. Video game friends/acquaintances are similar in age, not same views, comes up very often. Then coworkers are not the same age at all, and it comes up there often as well. Not denying it could be, just 3/3 on what feels like different populations/demos had me anecdotally feeling otherwise

Don’t worry, none of us have forgotten about the international pedo ring that many of our public servants tolerated, enabled, and participated in and then did not take responsibility for when they were exposed.

No it hasn't...

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 18 points 3 months ago

Google Trends data

So for me to "stay interested", not only am I supposed to stay at my computer 24/7 and search "epstien files" over and over, I have to use Google to do it as well?

Is the person in charge of calculating unemployment numbers and cost of living increases in charge of this as well?

"president forcibly enters area without permission" headline works for both

[-] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 months ago

It's up to us, all of us collectively, to keep talking about it as much as possible. Talk to your friends talk to your neighbors post articles call Congressman anything you can

[-] ScrambledEggs@lazysoci.al 5 points 3 months ago

This just means we need to up our efforts by 95%

[-] pjwestin@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

That's a dumb way to frame this. "My interest in resolving my crippling debt dropped 95% when I set my house on fire!" Well, creating and imminent crisis doesn't make your other problems go away.

The mosquito bite didn't bother me at all after i cut my hand off

[-] Binturong@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 months ago

Sure, that's why so many people are calling it world war epstein right? This article is pure, concentrated cope. The only strategy they have is telling you you aren't thinking about something, which by the way makes you think about that thing. So... mission accomplished?

[-] fodor@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

What stupid research. But even if those numbers are meaningful now, all they remind us of is that people's interest will return. For example, now we have documents about the security guard who got bribed who falsified the documents. We also have more information about Epstein's brother who lied to federal investigators about what he knew. And we have even more pictures and video of Trump being a sleazy bastard.

Donald thought he could deflect attention, but in the end it will always come back to him and his ultra-rich buddies being horrible human beings. We're not gonna forget that. We're not going to let it go.

Bombing the elementary school alone is worse than everything is the epstein files

[-] TommySoda@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

Bombing an elementary school is absolutely horrific and evil, don't get me wrong. But I'm pretty sure sexually abusing and trafficking 100s if not 1000s of girls while also murdering an unknown number of them over the course of decades is substantially worse.

[-] Tinidril@midwest.social 2 points 3 months ago

Cutting USAID funding is projected to kill over 10 million people, most of them kids. Compared to that, an elementary school is almost insignificant.

The story of the Epstein files is the story of how we got where we are. No matter where it falls on the death and destruction scale, it is critical to understanding that pedophile sociopaths rule the world.
