Can other EU countries station their troops there, like peacemakers? Shooting at just danes is one thing, shooting randomly at swedes, finns, germans, french is different. I think it is important to insist from the beginning that the whole EU is in it, and if whatever happens, having slovaks or hungarians, poles or greeks being angered by their man down is the way to ensure Greenland won't be alone.

It is a highly complex situation...

And by highly complex, I mean nobody wants to risk their own economy and relationship with US. All of these 'powerful' countries will publicly denounce actions whilst doing nothing to prevent them.

May it become mandatory for some unpredictable and highly impossible reason?

GOOD. And this is how ALL countries need to be moving forward. America is not to be trusted. We are NOT the good guys.

Seeing how our NATO "allies" are acting recently, this sounds like a good idea.

War with one EU member is war with the entire EU. The European Union's constitution plainly states that if any member is attacked, all others are required to do everything in their power to help defend that member.

As opposed to NATO's Article 5 that only requires all other members to do what they deem is necessary, which may be almost nothing at all.

Of course, divided as the EU currently is, we probably can't expect it to suddenly work together as one to defend from American aggression. Even pro-EU countries may end up doing nothing due to various factors such as pro-US president (Poland) or major American military equipment contracts (Finland).

At the very least France seems prepared to defend the European Union. As much as I criticized Macron in the past, I'm happy to see him standing up to the empire and firmly supporting the EU.

If the US invaded, or took significant military action against Greenland, we would be in deep deep shit.

The forced takeover of Greenland would harm NATO’s ability to preserve trust between its member nations. The North Atlantic Treaty contains Article 5, which requires member states to defend each other, but this provision would become ineffective when the United States faces an attack. The NATO allies would need to decide between taking action against Washington or giving up their commitment to collective defense.

This would become the point at which I would start seriously considering moving to a site on which I could build a bomb shelter, or at least stockpile long-term quantities of non-perishable food and survival supplies. Starting WWIII for fucking Greenland is beyond any description of surreal insanity I can feasibly elucidate. It would take a poem, or a song.

It's infuriating to know that no one will stop Cheeto Chimp.

There might possibly be early, immediate resistance, however EU/NATO will not use military forces to protect Greenland.
