Giancarlo Esposito is the embodiment of quiet menace and commitment to character

[-] pipi1234@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago

As a native Spanish speaker, I can very much tell you that he had zero commitment to his spanish lines in bb. Apart from that... hats off, he is an excellent actor indeed.

[-] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 5 points 5 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I'm not native, but I speak a bit, and there was something about his lines that felt like someone who trained to say those exact words in that exact sequence, rather than someone that is actually fluent. Thanks for confirming.

I'm easily amused, but not many things make me laugh out loud. This did.

Also, my brother's first cat was named Galois. Would you like me to relay your contact details to him so you can reunite?

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

aw shit i got like so many cats i would like to employ your services with

[-] toynbee@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

I can't guarantee that would end well. The first cat I lost, we buried; a bit later, my parents forgot it was there and planted a tomato plant in the spot.

A bit later, cat bones started coming up from the ground unexpectedly.

So I can't promise a pleasant or clean reunion.

they stuck by me when i was bones and skin, i can stick by them when they're bones and bones

Shit, he is a good actor!

[-] balderdash9@lemmy.zip 7 points 6 days ago

Expected a Rickroll, was still worth watching.

[-] SayJess 34 points 6 days ago

I want this to be true so bad.

[-] cRazi_man@europe.pub 61 points 6 days ago

The most unbelievable part is the fact that someone has just found an unattended and unclaimed banana in pristine condition.

[-] EffortlessEffluvium@lemmy.zip 41 points 6 days ago

Yeah, I mean that's like finding 10 bucks just lying about!

Who’s kissing roses?

[-] wheezy@lemmy.ml 6 points 6 days ago

The crossover though is pretty common. There's always money in the banana stand.

My wife has, on more than one occasion, picked up and brought home "parking lot bananas" from work.

[-] toynbee@lemmy.world 17 points 6 days ago

Make sure she doesn't plug them into any computers; that's a common pentesting technique.

Pristine? That banana is 2 days away from going into someone’s gross banana bread.

[-] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 22 points 6 days ago

Absolutely not. It's 20 minutes away from going in the freezer for 8 months with the promise of gross banana bread that will never get made, and the banana will be found and they'll make a special trip to buy new bananas which will also go in the freezer with the promise of gross banana bread. Repeat every 8 months.

[-] Monument@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 6 days ago

We had to stop buying bananas because the ziplock bag for bananas is bulging and can’t possibly fit another.

I really should make some gross banana bread.

[-] GingerGoodness@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Obviously everyone loves gross banana bread, but I find that chocolate banana muffins are much more effective at stopping me from hoarding frozen bananas.

[-] Monument@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 4 days ago

Commenting again to say that I can definitely vouch for the recipe. It was pretty good!

[-] Monument@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 6 days ago

Well. Hm. I currently have all those ingredients…

Excellent idea.

[-] RickyRigatoni@retrolemmy.com 16 points 6 days ago

Why the hate for banana bread 🙁

[-] pressedhams 12 points 6 days ago

It’s just an extension of my hate for cooked banana in all forms.

Unfortunately, it is actually a banana

[-] x00z@lemmy.world 31 points 6 days ago

Who the hell finds a random banana outside?

[-] tychosmoose@lemmy.world 28 points 6 days ago

To be fair it wasn't a random banana.

It was this specific banana.

[-] toynbee@lemmy.world 21 points 6 days ago
[-] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

It is a gun.

[-] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Must be the USA, then.

[-] x00z@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

50/50 chance it was either this one or not.

That sounds like talk of someone who wouldn't pick up said banana

[-] x00z@lemmy.world 16 points 6 days ago

And have my fingerprints all over it? No thanks.

[-] RedSnt@feddit.dk 11 points 6 days ago

Bananas tend to grow outside after all.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 days ago

Isn't that where they all come from?

[-] village604@adultswim.fan 5 points 6 days ago

At a con like that there are likely a bunch of kids, and kids drop shit all the time.

They should have included a banana for scale, so we can see how big that gun is.

[-] Sideshow_B00b@lemmy.zip 15 points 6 days ago

Los Hermanos Bananas

Every decent actor & fan of theater pays tribute (or should) to Monty Python (Flying Circus in this case: In Defense Against Fresh Fruits.: https://youtu.be/NqDPsonOLCQ)

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 6 days ago

That's Pierce Hawthorn's brother!

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

He was awesome in The Residence too if you haven't seen it.

[-] PumpkinEscobar@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

Also, community. Just a couple episodes but he had a really funny/interesting straight-man energy that he did well
