Timeless design
It came out at the wrong time, but it is amazingly well designed. I'm looking at mine right now.
I like the design so much, in fact, that when it came time to buy a handheld PC I got the GPD Win4. Guess why.
Oh yeah... I was still very much into console wars at the time it released, rooting for the Vita against the 3DS, haha.
I ended up importing it from HK to get it a few months (perhaps mere weeks even) before launch and I even made unboxings, reviews and news "coverage" on YT at the time. I loved that handheld to bits.
I don't have my day one console anymore, but I do still have one (hacked 2000 model, I'd love to get a Hori grip for it but those are way too expensive nowadays...).
Still use mine on the daily. It's particularly great if you can play Japanese games
Nice do you play minecraft on vita by any chance?
Sold mine earlier this year because I needed the money for rent. I loved that thing, I miss it all the time. It was my Persona and SMT machine, so many hours...
Had to sell my LCD monitor once to make rent... I loved that monitor, had researched it and bought it specifically. 🙁
Hang in there, things will be looking up before you know it.
Funny, I had one of these in my hands the other day and was quite impressed!
I remember being a kid and wanting one of these SOOOOO bad. Never got to experience it! Steamdeck has filled that lost time for me!
I thought about getting one, but now I got the Gamesir X2 Pro for my phone and I don't see how a real Vita could give me any advantages over my current setup. I love this controller!
The only game I had for my Vita was Persona 4 Dancing All Night, but I played the shit out of that game. I miss it. No idea where my vita wound up.
The amount of Dissidia and Persona 4 Golden I played on this thing was unreal. Gorgeous screen on the original model and I actually really liked the bubble UI.
It's a shame the memory card standard killed this thing off. Would have loved to see more support for it.
It's the one device where it's a joy to use the dpad. After using it I'm still trying to find one that comes close to how good the dpad functions.
Man, I used to have PSP back in the day, and I loved it.
And now, I am kinda pondering, on buying a PS Vita, for some emulation. And I think I sure will do that. Just.. gotta get money first..
