This is rich considering the ICE raids where people with visas to be here training Americans are being snatched up and "choosing" to go home instead of deal with the bullshit.

[-] tburkhol@lemmy.world 77 points 2 weeks ago

This is as close as he's going to get to apologizing for that fuckup. His girl's got her bag packed, waiting on the Uber, and the best he can do is say he really does like her lasagna. Totally won't throw it in her face next time. Even though he used to cook much better than her.

[-] SidewaysHighways@lemmy.world 26 points 2 weeks ago

used to but forgot, but totally will be better once all knowledge has been extracted. plz stay and touch pp

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

There is 100% no way he wrote that.

[-] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 94 points 2 weeks ago

“Disincentivize”?

Ghost writer.

[-] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 38 points 2 weeks ago

Charlie? Is that you?

Figured it wasn't Trump's writing, he thinks a semiconductor is some guy who yells "All aboard!" when it's time to mount a half-erect penis.

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

New metaphor just dropped.

[-] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 35 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Not all caps, 20 y/o staffer wrote this.

And said staffer is dumb enough to think it’s both grammatically correct and in Trumps voice at the same time.

[-] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

They even threw an emdash in there, so it was probably written by AI

[-] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 2 weeks ago

As a former designer/typesetter/typographer, it pains me to admit that this is probably the case.

[-] MutilationWave@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 weeks ago

I'm no designer or typesetter, but I join you in mourning the em-dash.

[-] flamingo_pinyata@sopuli.xyz 33 points 2 weeks ago

It doesn't end with "THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!!"

Definitely a ghost writer.

[-] VeryInterestingTable@jlai.lu 8 points 2 weeks ago

Imagine needing a writer for twitter. I can understand for biographies of people who are not writers themselves. But can't you write like.. One paragrah?

Up next Elon Musk hires a ghost writter for Diablo IV to type in chat.

[-] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 weeks ago

This is off topic but I wonder how long it will take before we learn the identities of the people who have access to Trump's twitter account. Ever since presidents started using Twitter in office nobody really assumed they were writing posts themselves , they have comms teams for that. Trump's relationship with Twitter had always been different, and the gimmick has always been that it's his way to talk to the people without the MSM filter.

But we know at this point that he doesn't write all his own posts and we also know that he sometimes criticizes specific companies. Anyone with even 15 mins of notice about these posts going live can make easy money on the stock market. It would almost be silly if there weren't people making a killing off it.

Its illegal of course but that hasn't mattered for a while.

[-] prole 2 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah I wonder who actually wrote this

[-] OriginalUsername7@lemmy.world 67 points 2 weeks ago

I don’t want to frighten off or disincentivize investment into America by outside countries or companies

Says the guy who stopped any and all US government investment into companies and countries outside America. It’s like that comic of the dog with a ball; “no take, only give”.

[-] Soup@lemmy.world 61 points 2 weeks ago

So he wants to get other countries to bring their business here but also wants the foreign experts to piss off after teaching the US citizens how to do their jobs. He also, in the same post, tells them how the US will then beat them at their own game after they need to be taught how to play because they couldn’t figure it out on their own.

I’ll rewrite it for whoever actually wrote this: “We suck, and we can’t build talent domestically. The plan is to get foreigners(who, I would like to remind everyone, we do not want here longterm) to teach us how to do things because we cannot understand it on our own. Then we will quickly become better than them somehow.”

[-] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 22 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Also today don't forget that they threatened to defund universities, the places who teach how to make things

Edit: defund instead of refund

[-] Soup@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

“Defund”? Holy shit, they’re really completely fucking stupid haha.

And the best part is that we all know a tonne of people who have these views. We can pretend that these people are actually Russian spies or whatever but at some point we need to accept that Conservatives the world over genuinely are just stupid, angry, and short-sighted. It’s their entire MO.

[-] plyth@feddit.org 2 points 2 weeks ago

But there is also the uncomfortable thought that all the education hasn't helped the left leaning people to organise a better future.

[-] Dragonstaff@leminal.space 5 points 2 weeks ago

I don't know what you expect left leaning people to do with the rest of you working against us.

Capitalism enables the rich to implement policies to ensure they have all the power. Education won't fix regulatory capture.

Is it uncomfortable? Around the world “the right” is either already fascist or steadily(and happily) moving towards it while centrism is constantly constantly trying to pretend that everything is ok and that half-ass, less scary changes are implemented in place of better, full-fat ones which may alienate the right-wing voters who are increasingly calling for killing anyone who is slightly against them. The center also runs nearly entirely on “we aren’t the right” and people fall for it all the time.

Smart people know how to make shit work, and they know that because their education allows to perform studies to show that these things work but you try to get a bike lane installed in North America and see what happens. Facts don’t matter to way too many people and so many are also so poor that being deathly afraid of the threat of a teething period is not even wholly unreasonable, as much as we do need to just rip that bandaid off(and usually it just means taxing the rich and not the poor but again, try telling that to people who get their news from Facebook propaganda pages).

And if you’re saying that US Democrats are “the left” then we can’t even have this conversation until that’s sorted out.

American Exceptionalism (Extra Racist Edition)

[-] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

but also wants the foreign experts to piss off after teaching the US citizens how to do their jobs.

It's worse than this. We will steal your technology and cut you out of your business with our totally not idiocracy workforce, that must swear loyalty to the king to have their jobs. So fuck your business and trust in that our idiocracy will make your US operations execute as you hope.

[-] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 48 points 2 weeks ago

Release the Epstein files, rapist.

[-] stretch2m@infosec.pub 46 points 2 weeks ago

Imagine the ghostwriter tasked with this, trying (and failing) to dumb down his post to sound like his moron boss.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 45 points 2 weeks ago

So we should invest money in the US and then teach Americans on how to take away our business from us? All while those non-American "teachers" you so dearly need can and will be snatched up by the Nazi-US GeStaPo at random in order to fulfill some quota?

Does nobody in that government even notice how stupid this sounds?

[-] Taldan@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

He's basically openly saying the US is trying to be like China when it comes to manufacturing (even though there is no possibility the US could compete due to extremely high labor costs)

Not to mention he's backpedaling from kicking out the specialized employees there to build the EV factory. American employees were going to be trained to build the EVs, but there is no need for Americans to need to learn how to build a specialized Hyundai factory. Absolutely no excuse for this other than incompetence

That is way too coherent to be Trump.

[-] JackbyDev@programming.dev 30 points 2 weeks ago

"We welcome them" No we fucking didn't 😭 lmao wtf. Gaslighting.

[-] lack@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago

This dude's brain is hamberder paste

[-] echodot@feddit.uk 19 points 2 weeks ago

That's way too coherent, it actually makes sense, has no capital letters, and stays on topic the entire time. The trump impersonator needs to level up their game

[-] unconsequential@slrpnk.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

Absolutely zero chance in Hell Trump himself wrote that.

[-] plyth@feddit.org 13 points 2 weeks ago

No caps? Which one is the act?

[-] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

CAPS LOCK is on the left side of the keyboard. So we can narrow down his recent stroke to the right side of his brain.

[-] fox2263@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Well if you want to do that then you need to stop the things you’re doing contrary to that 🤣

[-] Lumidaub@feddit.org 11 points 2 weeks ago

"things"

"game"

Things, ya know? Thinnnnnnnnngs. And gaaaaaaaame. *eyebrow wiggle* Things and game. Nudge nudge.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Man 1: My country is very skilled in making things, yes.

Man 2: Oh, knew she was! Knew she was! Ehhhh . . . is your country a goer? Eh?

[-] derry@midwest.social 11 points 2 weeks ago

Are we at the weekend at trump's stage now?

[-] rezad@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

"Train your replacement" USA edition.

[-] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah but in this case I can just choose not to do it.

[-] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 weeks ago

This looks so fake if this was a real president with a brain. Instead this is a actual post from the bag of skin in the whitehouse.

He is such an embarassing crybaby. No other country is going to work with us and manufacturing is done in the US. He has ruined all our international relationships in less than 6 months and now is trying to gain them back by being an asshole?

Please someone, make it make sense.

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 8 points 2 weeks ago

Why would a company send people over to teach us how to do shit only to leave later on? Also why did you let ICE go after that Hyundai plant if t his was your goal...

[-] DandomRude@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

Is this satire? I really can't tell anymore...

[-] theneverfox@pawb.social 7 points 2 weeks ago

It's frantic back stepping

[-] makyo@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

I feel like someone only just explained this to him and now he feels like he’s a galaxy brain posting it

[-] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 weeks ago

Hyundai tried

[-] _core@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 weeks ago

Who wrote this? It certainly wasn't Trump
