I I don’t know what Roblox is. I do know what discord is, but I seem to be unable to use it correctly? Also, although I have downloaded some stuff from GitHub a few times, I can never remember how to do it the next time, and the layout and UI make zero sense to me, every time.
I thought I was the only one! Every time I experience the exact same thing.
I can't roll my r's. I speak pretty decent Spanish (took 5 semesters in high school), but have never been able to figure out how to roll the r's, despite years of trying on and off to figure it out.
It's never a problem. On the rare occasions that I actually need to speak Spanish, nobody cares that I can't roll my r's.
I have this same problem and my wife is actually from Mexico City and I travel to Mexico pretty often.
It’s really fun though, I refer to our chihuahuas as “los perritos” but it sounds like “little farts” due to my pronunciation. Her family loves having me read things in Spanish poorly as if I don’t know the language (which is hard!).
You might have a physical limitation, I've met native people who can't roll their Rs, it's still fairly simple to understand as long as you're pronouncing them as Rs, or something close/distinct enough, e.g. English R (How an English speaker pronounces the R in for example Row)
Is it a tongue issue ? a girl I knew in school couldn't do the english "th" because the leash below her tongue was too short
Choreography. I can't follow other people's motions to save my life.
I never learned to ride a bike and every attempt has been met with injuries as soon as I build a modicum of confidence. But I can rollerblade like nobody’s business, so I got that going for me.
I had a dream I was rollerblading last night... the last time I put on roller blades was in 2006!
How do you slow down / stop with rollerblades? I had the reverse experience: any kind of hill, I'm fine on a bike but I always crash on rollerblades. I would love to learn though.
I’ve never really thought about it. I’m not a fancy skater – my skates do have brakes, so my technique isn’t such that I have to plan for never using them.
If I have the width I’ll slalom down hills to bleed speed - even doing little loops up the hill at the turn of each switchback to bleed off speed. If there’s not enough room to slow down, I might bomb though if it’s safe to do so (because that’s why roller blading is so fun, anyway). I might skate on one foot and drag a wheel behind or make my toes point toward each other slightly, just out of parallel - the greater the angle, the more drag the out of alignment wheels produce. I often tend to drag a wheel or use the brake, then spin to stop, before resuming.
There are other techniques for stopping or slowing down, but those are my go to’s.
My right foot is almost one size wider than my left foot. Finding a good pair of shoes is hard.
And I can't remember what kind of clothes people are wearing. Colours, sometimes, but it's like my visual cortex dedicates zero processing power for clothes.
I have the opposite problem. Only remember clothes and hair, never faces. It affects my life a lot, though.
Turns out I only have one kidney. Went in for a scan of my bladder (which was fine), and the nurse doing the scan just casually mentioned it. I had no idea. I was 43 at the time.
Have you ever woken up in a motel bathtub full of ice?
Now that you mention it...
Can't whistle loudly. I can barely do it quietly. I certainly can't do that badass thing where you put fingers from both hands into your mouth and blow.
I once told someone, "I can't do it, but I've seen people demonstrate it. You have to push your tongue back so it curls up, and..."
Then I demonstrated what I was shown, and it worked!
And then I was never able to do it again.
I hate when people "show you how to do it", they're always showing you the back of their hand, like that's supposed to help.
I can't make upside down hand eye goggles. Image for context below.
How is this a personal weakness?
Wrong answers only, please.
Once you have the forbidden knowledge it constantly calls to be used.
Dude...I know I used to be able to do this but it's been decades.
I can't do it anymore. It feels so awkward and strange and hurts my tendons just trying it...Whuuuut?
Due to an old eye injury, I do not have a functional drain tube for my left eye (that channel that drains from the corner of your eye and into your nose).
Normally it's not something anyone notices, but in cold headwind and anything else that causes my eyes to water, it looks like I'm crying my heart out but only with one eye.
A near-complete lack of rhythm and profound tone deafness. I can't keep a beat to save my life, and my singing sounds like the wails of the damned. But like damned chimps or something.
Anyway, all music is sorcery as far as I'm concerned.
Regardless of age, weight, or overall fitness, I have never been able to touch my toes when bending over from standing.
I always felt uncomfortable in country-themed nightclubs.
I only found out a few months ago that nightclubs aren't a creation of Hollywood. They are definitely not for me. Country-themed sounds even worse.
I can curl my upper lip on the left side, but the right side can't do it. I can't raise one eyebrow either.
I can only curl the left side too!
What the fuck, same here
I think we are on to something
I can't swim. Then again I just never go near deep water and am not a swimming pool enthusiast.
My big toes lack toenails.
Auditory processing disorder makes it really hard to deal with multiple people talking.
I work from home, so
I have 3
I cannot juggle. I don't generally lack in hand-eye coordination (not that I'm overly-gifted with it either, but I'd generally say that I'm at least average,) and I understand the theory of it well enough, I've even been able to teach people to juggle successfully, it's just that I, myself, cannot juggle.
I'm also a reasonably handy, technically-minded person, again not an absolute wizard, but if I crack a gadget open, with a couple Google searches and how-to guides, I can usually understand more or less how things work and how to fix them if they're broken.
But something about sewing machines breaks my mind. There's something going on right around the bobbin that just doesn't make sense to my brain and doesn't seem like it should work, but it apparently does, because I've successfully used a sewing machine and can confirm first-hand that they work.
Lastly, I don't like needles. It's not a horrible phobia that sends me running for the hills, but something about needles sleeves me out like nothing else. I can suck it up and get my necessary vaccines and such, but I do kind of have to give myself a little internal pep-talk first. It's not a fear of pain, I have pretty solid pain tolerance and needles really don't hurt that much at all, it's specifically needles that weird me out. If there was an option to get my vaccines where a doctor would shank me with a scalpel and rub the vaccine into the wound, I'd absolutely go for it.
Needles make me faint. They don't hurt too much, but... If I see one going in, the next thing I generally see is people crowded around trying to revive me. Hell, I just started to see stars! I'm lying down, for eff sake! It's not blood either, I've been first on the scene a few times now and given first aid to some pretty messed up injuries. I had a headache injection once, and the doctor mixed the drug with a giant needle as a stir stick, and he didn't even get the real needle out before I was face down on the floor.
I physically cannot focus or think too hard on something for too long (somewhere between 1-2 hrs), otherwise I would get physically sick. It was so bad for me as a child that I stopped watching movies... but these days it seems no more than a fun fact for my therapists
I can't whistle so always called my kids with a trill sound (like a loud Spanish RR, not Arabic ululation) and it is also my recall sound for the dogs. But I really can't whistle. Can sort of make a sound but it's laughably mockably wimpy.
Can't catch at all either, can throw reasonably accurately most of the time but an object coming at me never goes where my hands think it should. I am shamed by my penultimate daughter, who despite nearsightedness worse even than mine was, and a strong drive to be non-athletic, can pluck anything out of the air, has both lighting fast reflexes and intuitive hand eye coordination. But it doesn't really affect me other than occasional embarrassment - I just pick whatever it is up off the floor after it hits me.
You and my dog sound like you'd have a lot in common. He lets treats bounce off his head and then just eats them off the ground after.
My right sinus cavity is smaller than my left sinus cavity
Wanna do an exchange? For me it's the other way round. Do you also have the full package with smaller nostril and ear canal?
I have trouble making up context in conversations. I just don't have that many daily convos that require adquiring context
Wait until your bank website/app login requires a captcha with the magic eye thing! Bwahahaha.
Tone deaf. Fortunately I don't do music.
