So many career intelligence officers leaving and/or being forced out... Where are they going?

Can they please all get together and form an actual resistance? If there's anyone who knows how to do it, it's people like them.

Usually their value lies exactly in security clearance...

I kmow the name but havent seen her face before, she actually has a real-life disney villain white streak in black hair. It would be almost comical if i didnt know some tidbits about what shes been doing in office.

Or from the new Marvel movies:

La Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine

Big difference is, she's not a complete idiot...

Perversely, I find Gabbard to be fascinating.

Even among the Trump regime, she stands out for her utter lack of integrity and principles. Unlike the rest, and even Trump himself, it's not that there's something small and warped and self-serving where her principles should be, but that there's nothing at all. There's just an empty space - a complete and total ethical void.

That's what happens when you're raised in a cult and are solely a vessel for that cult to gain proximity to power.

That's because she's an operative of Russia. She does what she's told almost like the terminator. No remorse.

Couldn't have been more obvious when she tried very hard to stop Trump from bombing Iran, Russia's weapons supplier and ally.

They're all a bunch of Psychopaths, of course, but I understand the intrigue.

Yeah no that one is just sound policy. I mean, I guess it was weird for Tulsi to suddenly start pushing for sound policy, but "based on available intelligence we have nothing to convince us we should do this this is a bad fucking idea" is what she's supposed to he doing.

[-] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

This is good point. Even trump is just following his code. If you know his past you know his plays. He wants to win. He wants to make money. He is as his father made him. Tulsi...half the time I think she's just bored.

[-] WatDabney@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 16 hours ago

That's part of the thing to me - it is almost as if she's bored.

I think she's a pure sociopath - that it's not that she has some sense of right and wrong and self-servingly chooses to ignore or defy the distinction, but that the concepts don't even make sense to her - that she genuinely doesn't even grasp what it is that people are talking about when they refer to right and wrong.

Which makes her almost certainly the most dangerous person in the entire regime. I think she could sign an order to execute a million Americans just as easily as she could sign an order for socks from Amazon.

I think she operates based on an ideology, it’s just not one that is shared with others in the administration. It’s purely her own and her family/cult’s ideology. Part of it is serving Russian interests but I’d bet there are other goals of the cult and her personal goals.

Stephen Miller strikes me as more dangerous. He operates based on an ideology rooted in pain and self-loathing that manifests as racist hatred and disdain for institutions like the law and democracy.

[-] redsand@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago

That one Sanchez guy who went to prison was similar. I too remember her positions a decade or so ago and find her to be much more interesting than clowns like MTG. Military vet gone Russia asset who slowly gets dumber.

Try not to revoke any security clearances on the way to the parking lot.

Hey you! Get back here!

So the intelligence officials that investigated and found no evidence of wrong doing, are now losing their clearances for putting themselves over their country? What the fuck is she even implying?

A person could be forgiven for assuming they sandbagged the investigation.

She’s implying that the desired outcome was not reached, and that the people who relied on facts, instead of shaping and/or manufacturing data to present the desired outcome, are being sacked.

It’s funny how much conservatives like to bitch about “communism” when this is literally a tactic out of the Stalinist playbook - prioritization of ideological and political purity and dogma over data and facts. Works “fine” for the people in power for a while, but eventually, the wheels fall off. And we’re also seeing that here and now with our (that is, the US) government.

Fascism doesn't make sense

May you feel as secure as you make the rest of us feel.

[-] xyzzy@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago

I wish people like this who are falsely maligned would sue these loudmouths personally for libel and slander, on principle if nothing else.

[-] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 3 points 1 day ago

Good riddance.
