I set hard boundaries with some friends who I had developed unhealthy dynamics with. I was able to be firm yet kind and so far, my request for space and silence has been respected. I'm glad I stood up for myself, I'm a little sad cause there were good times too, and I'm so so relieved.

I learned to validate myself.

Since there were many mentions of allergies, I should point out lactose intolerance. Everyone is lactose intolerant to some extent. Even if you continue to produce the lactase enzyme into adulthood it is in limited supply.

Its been good to learn that there is a limit to how much cheese I can consume.

Slightly tangental, but I learned that I was allergic to shellfish! I was wondering why I felt sick immediately after eating foods that were mixed with shellfish or contaminants. Knowing makes life a heck of a lot easier.

Edit: a bidet, to give you a better answer!

I found out I was reactively hypoglycemic. A very slight diet adjustment and:

  • my panic attacks ended
  • my migraines stopped
  • my body properly signalled hunger again
  • my overall life quality improved

That's a huge change from a small change I'm so glad you realised

Stop rushing into relationships with others, learning to trust our gut about things.

Giving up gluten, turns out we were minorly allergic all these years and that was the source of our tummy pain, which doctors never thought to check.

Mentally seperating ourselves from those we live with.

Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
