What's his website? That's a millennial take, from before we merged the entire internet to live in two second soundbites on Twitter, Insta and Tiktok.

[-] tiramichu@lemm.ee 29 points 4 days ago

Exactly. "kids these days" don't even know what a website is, all they know are apps.

[-] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago

Kids these days and their tickity tocks

[-] scytale@lemm.ee 2 points 4 days ago

I’ve personally gotten more “what’s his/her/your insta?” than tiktok.

[-] ThraawnSolo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 50 points 5 days ago

I can't tell if this shirt is outdated or could have made more sense by losing the website part and adding "his YouTube channel?". I may be missing the joke all together. Fuck I'm getting old.

[-] TheFunkyMonk@lemmy.world 37 points 5 days ago

You’re not wrong. Nobody has ever responded to a music recommendation with “what’s their website” before.

They did back in the MySpace days

[-] SARGE@startrek.website 2 points 4 days ago

Oh damn, that gave me flashbacks of trying to get my page to look the way I wanted it while knowing almost nothing about any type of coding...

[-] reev@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 days ago

I think that just makes it a shirt that I want to own. That and "kids these day"

[-] morrowind@lemmy.ml 6 points 4 days ago

More accurately, "what's his @?"

[-] zqps@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 days ago

For the past 5-10 years it would have been his Insta addy.

[-] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 4 days ago

his YouTube channel

still old, they'll ask about his tiktok now

[-] Thunderbird4@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Yeah, that is the joke. It’s kinda like The Pack type humor in that it’s mocking how out of touch the demographic that would usually make this kind of complaint is. Modern jazz musician culture is a whole lot of meta-absurdist humor.

Is this the guy who was first to go to moon?

[-] elfin8er@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago
[-] SARGE@startrek.website 2 points 4 days ago

You're thinking of Lance Armstrong

He was a tall, bald black man who was a great actor and starred in movies like John Wick, and also did voice overs for tons of games, including Destiny.

[-] Ioughttamow@fedia.io 5 points 5 days ago

French king who won an arm wrestling tourney

[-] danekrae@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

You guys are both wrong... He was an Italian musician and played King Louie in The Jungle Book

[-] protist@mander.xyz 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

True story...Louis Armstrong was actually Disney's first choice to voice King Louie, but they decided against it due to the racist implications of having a black man voice an ape character. I think Louis Prima was a better fit anyway, he had a manic energy and is a little bit sarcastic and mean, where Louis Armstrong was just a very nice man

Prima is a better actor too especially when it comes to talking bears

[-] eta@feddit.org 2 points 5 days ago

Yeah the first guy to do a moonwalk

Welcome millenial, whats a website? Explain the thing of the past!

[-] dwemthy@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

A website is an app that's too poor to have it's own app
