Maybe we shouldn't be in a situation where billionaires have "approval ratings."

Gross.

Oh yeah. This is the type of imagery that got me banned off Reddit! Doesn't make the statement any less true.

WHY DOES ELON MUSK HAVE A MOTHERFUCKING APPROVAL RATING. MOTHERFUCKER IS NOT ELECTED. FUCK.

[-] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago

I was gonna say: we didn't vote for him! Approval rating should be at 0% on that point alone as zero voters approved of this.

[-] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 15 points 1 year ago

This should be higher. Why are we saying approval rating not popularity?

The fact that he has an approval rating is all you need to know about the state of America's politics

[-] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 82 points 1 year ago

Little Hitler is not popular. I wonder why.

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

Big Hitler is still pretty popular for some reason.

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 70 points 1 year ago

Gonna be tough to get reelected

[-] Scrollone@feddit.it 28 points 1 year ago

No need to be reelected when this was the last democratic election :)

Worse president ever.

[-] the_q@lemm.ee 66 points 1 year ago

It's cool a non elected, private citizen has an approval rating and a job in our government.

Elon Musk's approval rating is "falling through the floor" among Democrats, according to CNN's chief data analyst Harry Enten.

But he said Musk has improved with Republicans, going from -18 in 2017 to +51 in 2025.

[-] octopus_ink@slrpnk.net 48 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

"I have a clear mandate." 🤮

Shocking that the Republicans started liking him when he became more and more fascist and racist. They tell you all day long how we falsely accuse them of bigotry and racism, but they support it every last time.

Edit: I continue to love the one Lemmy maga who shows up to downvote any comment critical of the admin or Musk, but who never has the courage to disagree openly with anyone. I hope you read this, Sir, or Madam, so you can know the joy I take in finding evidence of your passing through a thread, even on my own comments.

It's like finding sasquatch poop in the wild.

Unelected acting president has an approval rating should infuriate every American.

this piece of shit has an "approval rating"?

[-] Grizzlyboy@lemm.ee 23 points 1 year ago

All presidents of the US has had it, so why wouldn’t he?

[-] Jumpingspiderman@lemmy.world 37 points 1 year ago

Glad to hear Muskrat's approval ratings are falling through the floor. But I would be much happier to hear that Muskrat himself were falling through the floor, from at least 30 stories up.

still, the shares in his public company are worth 50 times what the earnings could justify, and with lower sales expected ahead, some things puzzle me

[-] Master167@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

That’s the odd thing about the stock market. Its value of a company is not on how much money it makes. That seems like something an efficient market would be able to determine.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago

Through the floor is not enough. Dig deeper, to hell with him.

[-] gnomesaiyan@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

Straight to hell. To the boiler room of hell. All the way down.

[-] Vernal@lemm.ee 26 points 1 year ago

It is not nice to wish ill on someone, but with Muskolini, I cannot help but desire it.

Why does he even have an approval rating in the first place? He's unelected.

[-] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago

An approval rating implies he holds an elected office.

He does not.

[-] octopus_ink@slrpnk.net 20 points 1 year ago

His approval rating is low? Might matter for anyone who needed to be elected. Doesn't matter for the anointed.

[-] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

Good, the mofo should be stripped of US citizenship and flown back to South Africa in a Space X rocket. Make sure DOGE calculates the fuel load.

[-] tetris11@lemmy.ml 17 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Recent Fox News polling found just 40 percent of voters approved of the job Musk is doing with DOGE, while 58 percent disapprove.
And a CNN/SSRS poll found 53 percent of Americans hold an unfavorable opinion of Musk, while 35 percent view him positively.

It's weird that Fox would put out that news, I guess even they couldn't slow the ebb of disapproval of this guy.

Also, WTF - there was a large portion of Democrats who liked the guy? They're the ones mainly responsible for his drop in disapproval? He's as strong as ever amongst Republicans? What the actual fuck, America

[-] NABDad@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Since it's Fox, they're polling likely fascist voters, so his "approval rating" is even worse if you poll non-braindead voters.

What Democrat supports Musk?!... misleading headline here

I approve of his low popularity but I don't approve of polls. Polls are just like Chicken Little (The Sky is Falling (no...it wasn't)) or The Boy Who Cried Wolf (there was no wolf).

[-] PurpleSkull@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago

...and that would matter if he was dependent on votes by an electorate. He is not.
