I'm still not entirely sure what the story was about but damn the game is good.

Weirdly, I have never been able to get into the witcher or cyberpunk. Normally they're the kind of games I'd love, but for some reason I just find it a chore to play them.

[-] tatann@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

I'd get that from Red Dead Redemption 2 but I don't see the chore aspect in those games since you don't need to farm, you can just go through the main story and not worry about being under-leveled.

Unless you mean there's too much story/dialogue but I wouldn't call it a chore

Neocore games, Hungarian developers with great ARPG titles like Warhammer 40k Inquisitor, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing.

Also many small studios in Slovakia, my favourites are the indie RPGs: Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, Shadows: Awakening, Vaporum

Last year I played mostly Polish games and I must say the style and attention to detail is unmatched for titles with same budget/intended audience.

And yes, they are indeed "polished".

bloober team is horrible lol let's not praise them for their country of origin alone

[-] SchwertImStein@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

I played Layers of Fear(Bloober) right after SOMA (Froctional games) and LoF was extremely subpar.

Years later I tried The Blair Witch (Bloober) and it was terrible

There's also โ€œagainst the stormโ€ - a cool city builder kinda game with a cool twist:

you really have around 2 to 3 hours for a base and dependent on your performance you can unlock more stuff for your future bases

Poland also makes dope tactical/outdoor gear shout out to Helikon Tex

[-] RidderSport@feddit.org 1 points 1 week ago

I am just sad they don't produce in Poland. Unlike I believe, the Slovenian, (though way more expensive) UF Pro

[-] LonstedBrowryBased@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

That is unfortunate

[-] Schal330@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Outriders was such a disappointment. It had a good amount of marketing put into it, was clearly meant to be a gaas, but fell flat on its face pretty quickly and even released a DLC content update very shortly after release, and was then abandoned.

But so many other good games on that list!

[-] tatann@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

I had a blast playing it with a friend, nice power fantasy game.

[-] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago

Yeah, I came here to say, it feels wrong reducing People Can Fly to Outriders when pretty much every game they made before are much more interesting

[-] perslue@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Soldat missing from this list.

[-] SapphironZA@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

Please keep it from enshitifying.

What no love for The Thaumaturge? It's one of the most Polish games I've ever played.

[-] matelt@feddit.uk 2 points 1 week ago

Luv me houseflipper!

[-] biofaust@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

The Invicible is an amazing sci-fi adventure/walking simulator, with a story taken from a Stanislaw Lem novel.

[-] abfarid@startrek.website 1 points 1 week ago

iDreams (Infinite Dreams) didn't make the cut? I love their Sky Force games.
