But he did surrender
If Trump had smiled in his mugshot, putting it on merch would have been a fine idea for his campaign.
But the look in that mugshot is just plain sinister. Like if he had TRIED to look guilty, he couldn't have done a better job than he did in that photo.
We all know his supporters are a cult, so this won't bother them at all. But if they go putting this evil-looking mugshot in everyone's face for the duration of the campaign, they are going to turn off a lot of the independent voters.
I have to wonder who the hell can really be considered an “independent voter” at this point..? Like who honestly hasn’t made up their mind one way or another by now?
I think at this point "independent voters" are always-Republicans who also look and can't believe what happened to GOP.
There are an ocean of people who would never ever browse a politics forum for fun or watch the news.
He and Eastman were both trying to pull off this 'righteous anger' vibe. It's fairly offensive, really.
Maybe this is cultural, but it's giving "scared" vibe.
There's all these worry lines on his forehead, his eyes are opened wider than normal, and his mouth is twisting like he's trying not to cry.
that's the glare of a man who knows he's about to get fucked by the legal system. The only play he has left is to grift his base and hope they're enough to vote him into office.
And lets be honest. they eat up his 'defiance' like candy, because they're too stupid to see the red eyes from blubbering all night long.
Once a scam artist. always a scam artist.

LOL right.
It's self reported. He couldn't even pick a believable number.
Pathological liar gonna pathologically lie
I used to be about 230-240lbs at 6'2" and I don't remember being shaped like Grimace from the McDonald's commercials.
Here's a picture of Alex Pereira, an MMA fighter who's 6'4" and generally walks around at about 220.
Sure, Trump, Sure

I can't ID two of them... the dude under Joker, next to Clayface, and the woman in the prison stripes.
False Face and Ma Parker maybe?
Oof, they really did Harley dirty by using her here.
Never Surrender
Or you will look like this
u/Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca said this was the expression their little kids had when were told "no". Fits, since Trump is such a 2yr old.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Not two hours after former President Donald Trump left the Fulton County, Georgia, jail, his joint fundraising committee was already selling merchandise featuring his booking photo.
The former president left the Fulton County Jail at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, and for the first time in his four indictments on felony charges, authorities took — and released — Trump's mug shot.
In a fundraising email, Trump said he "walked into the lion's den with one simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA."
Ultimately, the former president wanted to look "defiant" in the face of charges that he thinks are politically motivated, CBS News has been told.
Before he boarded his plane back to New Jersey, Trump told reporters that he and his co-defendants "did nothing wrong," calling it "a very sad day for America."
Trump's co-defendants include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani; his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows; and attorneys Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis.
