I'd recognize the drab bomb shelter lighting temperature of an In-N-out any day, with or without the food.

[-] mkwt@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

That's cleanliness you can see.

[-] Xanthrax@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

They do that to keep people awake. Customers and workers alike. That's just what I've heard from the workers, though.

It's also a pretty common lighting choice in just about any office building or commercial entity. When you're as big as a giant fast food franchise, I can see the likelihood someone might have done the research necessary to conclude it was worth getting this lighting specifically to avoid sleeping customers and staff but I think it's also quite likely they're just cheap.

Nice gray light.

[-] tiredofsametab@fedia.io 30 points 2 months ago

Did someone dump a can of cream-of-mushroom soup on that? I don't know what I'm looking at.

[-] Travelator@thelemmy.club 20 points 2 months ago

It's a quarter cup of cat barf. It's difficult at first to get your pets to barf into measuring cups, but it absolutely can be done. Carrot, not the stick. Positive reinforcement.

Had a dog who was able to puke in bags. Can confirm: training is key!

[-] bionicjoey@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

That sounds very useful if you ever plan to bring your dog on a roller coaster

[-] ComfortableRaspberry@feddit.org 1 points 2 months ago

She wasn't really into car rides either.. but after a while we developed a routine for the rare occasions a ride was inevitable ಠ_ಠ

Their fries are always so chalky and dry, they legitimate taste fucking disgusting. Burgers are amazing, though.

[-] VeganCheesecake 15 points 2 months ago

Sorry OP, but this looks sad and horrid.

[-] gmtom@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

In n out is the most mid fast food I've ever eaten.

[-] QuarterSwede@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Thank god I’m not the only one. I didn’t grow up on them, being from the east coast, and I think it tastes like a dressed up McDonald’s burger (animal style included). It’s just not great. Hell, Freddy’s and Culvers is better.

Oh their fries are absolute trash, that I agree on.

[-] LemmySoloHer@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Cheeseburger with no onions and animal style fries I believe, and a beauty at that!

I'll take a Double Triple Bossy Deluxe, on a raft, four-by-four animal-style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim.

We serve food here sir

This feels like a post from an In-N-Out higher up

[-] setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

For me, it's the Flying Dutchman Animal Style. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra chopped chilis and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for an extra slice of cheese and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly In-N-Out worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three slices. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local In-N-Out restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large milkshake, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in milkshake, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

So many in-n-out haters.

Next time order with chopped chilies on top of the fries

[-] blackluster117@possumpat.io 6 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I get them in the burger. Double-double with a whole grilled onion and chopped chilies, animal style fries. It's what makes the world go round. Almost forgot to mention, toasted bun to help keep it from falling apart.

The words of someone who has never tried Culver's, clearly.

[-] QuarterSwede@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

lol, those are fighting worlds for the Cali crowd. You aren’t wrong though.

All the comments about the burger sauce on the fries acting like they've never heard of using thousand island dressing as fry sauce. Mayo, ketchup, relish (preferably dill). I don't know why In-n-Out calls that animal style though... I've only ever known animal style to mean dipped in mustard and fried so it gets a crunchy shell. Not "absolutely drenched in sauce."

And speaking as moderator: I'm not sure I want to keep fast food posts up here, but I also like being fair to the fact Lemmy is small and we don't want to get all up our own butts like the Reddit sub. What does the community itself think?

[-] RubberElectrons@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

I dunno what it is, but their fries (animal style with Chiles, or plain) seem to really upset my guts, consistently. I suspect it's their oil, but so far as I know, it's just regular peanut oil..

[-] Romkslrqusz@lemm.ee 6 points 2 months ago

Sunflower Oil

Five Guys is the peanut oil place

[-] MehBlah@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Overpriced and underwhelming.

[-] h3mlocke@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Those poor fries. 🥺

[-] arefx@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago

I like their burgers but the fries are total dog shit

[-] Attack0fthenerd@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Not trying to yuck your yum, but...yuck. Is that thousand island on undercooked fries?
