I find myself liking this guy more and more as I hear about him. Can't tell if he's a genuinely good person or if he's got a phenomenal PR team. Can't ever be too sure these days

[-] mr_sifl@lemmy.world 90 points 3 months ago

Lifelong MN resident here. He's a good dude.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 46 points 3 months ago

I’ve met him. He’s genuinely good.

[-] bus_factor@lemmy.world 31 points 3 months ago

I'm thinking a bit of both.

[-] norimee@lemmy.world 68 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I read in another post, that they sold their family home when they moved into the governors mansion. And way under its current worth apparently.

They could have easily rented it out and become landlords, but didn't. They were like "We don't need this house. Let some other family have it."

[-] SGforce@lemmy.ca 53 points 3 months ago

Would you let him sleep on your couch?

[-] todd_bonzalez@lemm.ee 41 points 3 months ago

I'd let him fuck my couch, and I'd keep it a secret like bros do.

I’m wondering two things.

First is… who is “him” we’re talking about?

The second is, if we’re talking about Trump… how bad is your couch?

I’ve see a few couches I’d let him sleep on, but first I’d leave outside a crack shack for a month.

And then give him directions to the crack shack…

Him is the guy in the post -- Tim Walz

Bot - sent in to be derisive, can't decide who the target is.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Serious question:

How the hell is anyone supposed to convince you they’re not a bot after that? Do you want me to dox myself?

Maybe a photo of my DL, mother’s maiden, SSN and IRS tax id?

Congratulations. Your bot radar is broken, but I’m never going to convince you or any of the others. And why?

I’m guessing because you saw a comment you didn’t understand. That’s fine. A little perspective: “would you let them sleep on you couch?” Is usually framed in the negative.

Hence the first question. The second is an attempt at humor. It didn’t land. Sorry. (Yes, I’d let Trump sleep on my couch. But first I’d find a shitty couch and make it worse.)

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I was just asking a question. You could have just said “No.”

[-] Username02@lemmy.world 34 points 3 months ago

Can he be the president instead? 🥺

[-] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 months ago

If they end up changing the laws such that people over 65 can't be elected, he will be too old.

[-] todd_bonzalez@lemm.ee 37 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Tim Walz is 60...

Just one year older than Kamala.

[-] smeenz@lemmy.nz 14 points 3 months ago

Only 6 months actually (April vs October)

[-] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 months ago

Yes I know that, what's your point?

[-] RageAgainstTheRich@lemmy.world 23 points 3 months ago
[-] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago

Yes true, but he is not the president candidate, so he has to wait until Kamela hopefully finishes her presidency. And then he will be 68.

And that is too old in my opinion.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

...do you know what the word "instead" means?

[-] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 months ago

Sigh... 🙄

So their fantasies are fine but my fantasy about age limits, that accepts they won't switch Kamala is bad.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 17 points 3 months ago

You countered their hypothetical with another hypothetical that assumes that theirs doesn't come to pass.

Logically speaking, it's the equivalent of someone asking if they can have steak in stead of pasta and you saying they can't because they'll be too full for steak after the pasta.

[-] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 months ago

And I was playing a different game, I see your hypothetical with a different hypothetical. But I see now that's a big no no.

[-] ripcord@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

Just stop being an ass about stuff and you will probably get along better with people.

[-] CatDokki@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

You’re just in the wrong conversation here. This thread is talking about present time.

Your comment higher up was taking it to future tense.

[-] ripcord@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

One of those people who can't ever be wrong, I see.

[-] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 months ago

I was wrong.

Look at the wall. Notice someone missing?

I wouldn't hang that traitors photo up either.

[-] Hegar@fedia.io 23 points 3 months ago

It's just the Democratic presidents. No W, Bush I, etc.

[-] taiyang@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago

So... None of the bad ones, then.

[-] Hegar@fedia.io 11 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

None of the really bad ones, I'd say.

[-] norimee@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

My first guess is, that this photo is taken in some kind of democrat party building. They wouldn't hang up opposing presidents.

[-] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

Oh shit lol. I didn't notice that.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Depends on the wall.

I’m sure the FBI has a “most wanted” wall somewhere.

[-] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 months ago

This list is going to get longer and longer until "he's never tasted food"

[-] ripcord@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

"Was not born; decided to give up his slot and let another sperm do its thing"

[-] ripcord@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Not hating on the guy; everything I know about him so far is awesome. But it's still kinda funny how saintly he keeps appearing to be.

[-] Commiunism@lemmy.wtf 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah, there's definitely some fetishization of working class going on by the media, kinda like how celebrities sometimes would cosplay as poor to appear "relatable" or something. At least this time it seems to be somewhat legit.

Hey fuckers, listen! He’s just like you!!!

Did you hear us!? Just like you, remember!

Now they just need to pump three articles daily and the electorate will buy it.

[-] samokosik@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Does he have indices? Or did he meant those when saying stocks. Not having money in some indices is not very wise tbh.
