So, to be clear, they're concerned that the furry is associating with trans people?

[-] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

A good Christian God fearing furry would never

Far-right podcast host Joey Mannarino announced he would be “dumping out my Frosted Flakes” over its association with Mulvaney and switching to Froot Loops. He did not seem to realize that both cereal brands are owned by Kellogg’s, so he’s not actually sending his money somewhere else.

Well…

[-] Saitama@lemmy.fmhy.ml 7 points 1 year ago

One of the great intellectual giants of his generation, that one.

[-] lel@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 year ago

My favorite Joey Mannarino plotline was when he tried to organize a boycott of Chick-Fil-A of all things for being too woke.

[-] Saitama@lemmy.fmhy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

I think we should start figuring out ways to get the NRA to post some lines of support for LGBTQ+ gun owners now.

[-] lel@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 1 year ago

the NRA has fallen

[-] space@beehaw.org 7 points 1 year ago

switching to Froot Loops

I love the irony that he went with the queerest named cereal as a replacement.

[-] blackstampede@lemmy.fmhy.ml 15 points 1 year ago

My god. Find something important to be angry about.

[-] Kushan@beehaw.org 11 points 1 year ago

What could be more important than being a shitty person?

[-] DpwnShift@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

It's like talking to a toddler: "My feelings are more important than anything, I have no impulse-control! Ahhhhhh!"

[-] Col3814444@kbin.social 13 points 1 year ago

Especially hilarious these same people constantly complain about ‘cancel culture’

[-] keeb420@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

maybe they can eating the rich next.

[-] storksforlegs@beehaw.org 7 points 1 year ago

they then proceed to both create the Streisand effect for said product... followed by usually purchasing said product to destroy it in internet videos for other chumps.

[-] KahunaDaKine@startrek.website 5 points 1 year ago

I can see the ads on Fox or OANN now.

"MAGA Mush! Quality gruel for quality patriots! Available at your local Cabela's now!"

At least I'm assuming they haven't canceled Cabela's like Bass Pro yet.

[-] Satiric_Weasel@beehaw.org 4 points 1 year ago

I hope they do.

Like every other right-wing grift; the gruel in question would be entirely devoid of substance, expensive, and hazardous to their health.

They'd starve with full stomachs in their living rooms watching Fox, sitting next to a phone their loved ones have stopped calling.

[-] rs5th@lemmy.scottlabs.io 3 points 1 year ago

Cabela’s was acquired by Bass Pro in 2017 🤣

[-] darkmugglet@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Well, corn flakes was invented by anti masturbation crusader. Kellog thought that flavorful food causes young boys to rub one out.

I mean, he's not wrong, but I could be just as horny eating cardboard.

Please keep going far right people. Boycot as many large businesses as possible. Maybe these giant corporations will finally stop donating to right sided politicians.

They helped create this nonsense, so they can help solve it.

[-] Uniquitous@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago

The poor things are getting so weak now, no sources of protein at all after Chick Fil A and Cracker Barrel turned on them.

[-] Saik0Shinigami@lemmy.saik0.com 1 points 1 year ago

Farms tend to be rural... Rural communities tend to be conservative. How are "Conservatives" going to run out of things to eat when they literally grow food?

The hell is this article supposing? That Tony the Tiger owns all food? This type of editorialization is stupid. Who cares that ANYBODY boycotted what amount to sugar soup?

[-] Kellamity@beehaw.org 7 points 1 year ago

Its not literal. Its just poking fun at the fact that culture-war-conservatives are boycotting more and more things for dumb reasons

[-] Saik0Shinigami@lemmy.saik0.com 0 points 1 year ago

So boycotting (and suing) cake shops for not making gay marriage cakes... this is any different how?

You can't shit on the other side for something yours is doing too and act holier than thou.

All this serves is to antagonize them and divides everyone more... And makes people like me hate both of your parties.

Every day my Polish Citizenship looks better. Everyone looks more childish every day in this country.

[-] Omegamanthethird@beehaw.org 5 points 1 year ago

If I discriminate at work, I'll get fired. If I don't discriminate at work, I won't get fired. This is not a double-standard. It's THE standard. Pretending otherwise just emboldens discrimination.

So boycotting (and suing) cake shops for not making gay marriage cakes… this is any different how?

the key difference is it's good for people who refuse to respect basic human rights to be boycotted and socially ostracized for doing so. conservatives, meanwhile, pretty much exclusively do boycotts because they're mad they can't restrict other people's human rights

[-] Saik0Shinigami@lemmy.saik0.com 1 points 1 year ago

You're attempting to restrict the rights for an artist to choose their art... Somehow that's different? That's very delusional thinking. It is literally the same thing. You're just treating it special because you happen to agree with one and not the other, so you're refusing to look at it from a neutral standpoint.

If the left can boycott a cake shop for not wanting to generate art that has certain motifs, then the right 100% should be able to boycott companies for depictions that also have certain motifs.

This is literally equivalent. And if you're mad about the right treating you like shit because you harbor the former belief then you shouldn't be the people push the latter problem on others.

If you have to resort calling the other side "nazi" because you have no other point... You make yourself look pretty foolish.

It doesn't matter the ideology if you both act the same exact way.

edit: It's actually disappointing that a moderator acts like this. Strawmanning my statement... talking down to fellow federation members... participating in bad faith arguments.

[-] RocksAreCool@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Do you really think that's what the article was saying? Their boycotting farms? I guess you also think they are boycotting ranches, and fisheries too? Or many... just maybe... the author was using something so common we have name for it? Hyperbole

[-] Saik0Shinigami@lemmy.saik0.com 2 points 1 year ago

You may want to read my post again.

Boycotting sugar soup is not "running out of things to eat".

Nowhere did I say that they're boycotting farms. Wouldn't make sense since I asserted that they run most rural farms.

[-] Chaser@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 year ago

A lot might already but have too much internalised homophobia to admit it 👀
