Usually we see the problem of cleaning products that look too much like food products, this is the first time I've seen the opposite though

[-] nxdefiant@startrek.website 9 points 1 year ago

to be fair, it's both.

[-] Artyom@lemm.ee 16 points 1 year ago

Not even that cheap actually. $10/750ml is on the very low end, but it's not actually shocking.

[-] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 year ago

Alcohol is very expensive in Canada.

[-] SpeakinTelnet@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

Made in Alberta. Not surprised, just disappointed.

[-] Revan343@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago

They've stopped making it :(

[-] Cobrachicken@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

What the holy f*!?!

[-] GladiusB@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

That looks like antifreeze

[-] Revan343@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

Probably tastes more like isopropyl

Badger Claw Vodka ~$8 for a 1.75L.

Just don't waste the money on a case of MinHas...

[-] Cignul9@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Goddamn I hate gin… Dee you bitch!

[-] AreaKode@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Get me a beer!

[-] MCHEVA4EVA@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

The only box beer I've ever seen was from rodenbach. Do any others exist?

[-] TheFunkyMonk@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I’ve never heard of box beer and am super curious, can you link what you’re referencing? I’m not finding anything googling “rodenbach box beer”.

[-] yggdar@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

You couldn't really do that with beer, because beer is typically carbonated and thus you'll need a very strong bag inside of the box. So strong that you'll end up with a can or bottle.

[-] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 year ago

They used to sell little disposable kegs of Heineken I think.

But box beer should really be and box of cans over 12. Like those 30 packs of Bud Lite.

[-] AtariDump@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They did. And had little keg dispensers and kegerators for the mini kegs.

I could only find it on google images. I'd don't think they sell it anymore.

[-] TheFunkyMonk@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Huh crazy. This was like box wine where it was poured directly from the box?

[-] theatomictruth@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

The box in that picture has six bottles of beer in it

[-] PhlubbaDubba@lemm.ee 10 points 1 year ago

I wonder why nobody's tried fermenting hallucinogenic mushrooms and fungi into drinks

Would be hilarious to see someone try to turn that shit into an energy drink

[-] RBWells@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Because they don't taste good and fermented mushrooms have an off-putting texture? I like the flavor of most edible mushrooms but the psylosibe are not tasty.

Microdosing is something I'd really like to try though, it probably WOULD be a really nice energy drink, something that just opened you and woke you just a little not bash you over the head psychedelic.

[-] PhlubbaDubba@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

You could probably juje it up with some complimenting flavors and textures,

So not a drink straight from the crop like beer or wine, but maybe a mix drink?

[-] 9point6@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

They sorta tried with absinthe

Part of me assumes the active chemicals possibly get broken down during fermentation too,

"Looking over my bottle of captain morgan" ya

[-] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Cap'n Morgan is a privateer, not a pirate.

The difference is Morgan did it officially for a country, not to ransack loot from whoever.

The darker the swill, the darker the seas you sail. Hate yourself better and fight the Kraken with your face.

[-] ParabolicMotion@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Where does Everclear rank on this?

[-] LaunchesKayaks@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Box ethanol, maybe?

Rum featuring a pirate: a healthy dose of hatred for both self and others

[-] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Jeez, does this person ever drink water? Might clear things up a bit.

Based on this graph and the liquors I enjoy, I can see I hate others more than I hate myself. I already knew this dammit

[-] YungOnions@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

Hey, I like Appletinis and I don't hate myself that much!

[-] m12421k@iusearchlinux.fyi 3 points 1 year ago

Where's water in your chart?

[-] huginn@feddit.it 8 points 1 year ago
[-] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Water is the antithesis used to judge the alcohol

[-] m12421k@iusearchlinux.fyi 3 points 1 year ago

Water intoxication is actually a thing! It can also be lethal. I think it might be better to avoid drinking water in general. 🤔

[-] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Why does the vodka container matter that much? Is there a chemical reaction that would make it poisonous?

[-] remotelove@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 year ago

No, not poisonous. It's the about the quantity and quality. Large quantities of the cheapest vodka you can get usually means that you are a hardcore alcoholic or you are on a serious mission to get as blasted as you possibly can in as short of a time as you can.

Not many people but large jugs of cheap vodka because they like the taste. (Some do, though.)

[-] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I only ever drink tequila and do not hate myself at all

[-] Faresh@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

What does hatred for others here mean? Is it how much drinking the beverage defies social norms or is it how much alcohol the beverage contains?
