I was about to pay for NSO extra or whatever is calledt o play Game Boy games then I realized I could do that with the Vita I had collecting dust

You can even use an adapter to use high capacity microSD cards and avoid the ridiculous prices of the propietary cards
Also if you do, you should really consider submitting Spotpass dumps to the Spotpass archival project as it seems that the Spotpass servers weren't shut down yet. Every little bit helps.
This also does help @pretendo with the revival of the online services as network dumps help them more accurately rebuild the services for individual games.

I have a 3ds with a dead batty I threw it cause it started getting puffy. I have 2 questions before I start doing anything with the 3ds.
1 I need an R4 to do any of these tricks don't ya?
2 Is not possible for me to get this spot pass now can I get it later?
To 1: With a DS or DS Lite, you need an R4 or similar flash cartridge. With a DSi or any 3DS or 2DS, all you need is a computer and a sufficiently sized SD card (depending on how many game backups you‘d want to safe on there). For softmodding a Wii or WiiU, all you‘d need is an SD card and a sufficiently large USB storage medium for the game backups, btw.

switch sadly is more difficult to hack unless you have an earlier model. maybe in the future it will become easier.
