Latvian woman are the best, you give them a potato they give you a half-and-half.

[-] Harbinger01173430@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Potatoes exist aplenty in my country, with more than a hundred varieties. Do I have this in the bag?

I've had the top two as a kid. Thanks for the nostalgia!

[-] Libertus@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

You're welcome :)

[-] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

Oh hell, I didn't know those were real. I should have guessed though. They turned up in HROT, a very... "Soviet Core" game. If you're worried about the politics of the dev, the final boss is Putin

[-] nanoUFO@sh.itjust.works 38 points 7 months ago

"home grown" aka mostly Chinese parts

[-] snekerpimp@lemmy.world 34 points 7 months ago

In Soviet Russia, steam decks you!

[-] spongeborgcubepants@lemmy.world 16 points 7 months ago

This is going to be a huge success, like the last time when they developed a "homegrown" cellphone.

[-] feine_seife@feddit.de 11 points 7 months ago

Well people with connections to the goverment need a way to launder money.

Yes just like any other ruler they play risk with real people

[-] sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Only because they can't realistically play Defend Your Castle.

[-] MolochAlter@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago

No, but russians game a lot.

[-] woelkchen@lemmy.world 13 points 7 months ago

No, but russians game a lot.

They get very cranky and invade other countries when they have nothing else to do.

[-] prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

In fact right before the war in Ukraine kicked off it is said you could hear Putin shout “bloodseeker mid or feed”

[-] Neato@ttrpg.network 12 points 7 months ago

We see that PM Mishustin needs only to consider and create outline plans for the gaming ecosystem before the period of execution, which is set for June 15, 2024. Of course, preparing meaningful plans is still a big task, but it should be achievable enough for Mishustin to feel relatively safe standing on balconies.

Lol

I guess the Ruzzian bread & circuses are getting a bit low on the circus part.

[-] PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk 8 points 7 months ago

i've seen a few videos of ukranians using decks to control drones. maybe he thinks there will be military applications on the russian side too

[-] echodot@feddit.uk 5 points 7 months ago

The reason you can control drones is that it's basically a full-on OS that can send to arbitrary system commands. If Russia wants it 100% home grown they're going to have to develop their own architecture. What I suspect is it won't actually be that home grown and will mostly be Linux based, but Putin doesn't know the first thing about computer systems so it'll be fun to watch someone have to tell him that.

It's the same with North Korea, they claim to have their own PC OS but it's just Windows XP with a custom skin.

[-] vox@sopuli.xyz 5 points 7 months ago

isn't the NK Red Star os a linux distro?

[-] azvasKvklenko@sh.itjust.works 7 points 7 months ago

Maybe they’re murderous zealots, but at least they use Leenox /s

[-] PhlubbaDubba@lemm.ee 5 points 7 months ago

"and you will all only be allowed to play Pathologic!"

[-] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 months ago

"This game makes me feel like the state is irreparably evil."

"You must be doing it wrong, give that to me."

"Blyat."

[-] PhlubbaDubba@lemm.ee 2 points 7 months ago

Tbf it has much the same to say of non state forces

[-] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 months ago

so they have to develop this on the front during break time?

[-] humbletightband@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 7 months ago

They have already announced that it will be Intel Atom X5 with 64Gb SSD for around $500

[-] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 months ago

I had more faith in Kim Jong Un making his own theme parks.

There's a lot that can and should be done to break the x86-Windows-Steam monopoly, and I wouldn't mind a huge middle finger to Nvidia, but I do not anticipate Russia doing any of the right things, even for the wrong reasons. At least China's gonna push for weird MIPS and RISC chips.
