New rule (self.trans)
submitted 9 months ago by cowboycrustation to c/trans

I've decided to make a new rule: no posting negative news articles without a call to action or way to help. Many online queer communities (and ESPECIALLY trans, considering what's been happening globally) are full of these articles. I get staying informed, and it's important to an extent, but it also tanks our mental health to be constantly bombarded by them without any way to make things better.

There's a place for those articles, but it's not gonna be here.

Is this fair?

I struggled with it a lot and figured I wasn't the only trans person to. It's a form of self harm if done in excess and it's ridiculously easy to get sucked down that vortex and worsen depression and anxiety. We gotta look out for each other 💪
