I'm new to Lemmy. I've been on Mastodon for a while. I tend to access social media on the web and by app. I use Fedilab for Mastodon and I am comfortable with it.
What apps should I consider for Lemmy? I'm android, btw.
Thank you. Jerboa isn't working for me, it instantly crashes. Installed from both f.droid and the play store. Seems to be a common problem. I also tried lemmur and it couldn't find this instance. I'll keep looking.
i might have a workaround for this, depending on why it's happening for you. v0.0.35 is too new for blahaj, currently, so i tried v0.0.34 on f-droid, but hit the same wall as you
the crashes seem to relate to jerboa trying to load whatever its default instance is, so i turned off my data and wifi, and opened jerboa, navigating to the add account screen.
after i'd added in my credentials, i quickly turned on data/wifi on my phone and submutted the form, and now i'm logged in and jerboa works like a charm
idk if it'll work for you, but it might be worth a shot
Jerboa is currently the most developed Android lemmy app.

There's also the new ~~lemmynade~~ liftoff app. It's very new but I've heard good things thus far.
Hey, I got Liftoff to work. Happy days.
The fact that it's actually working places it above the alternatives.

Still crashing, but I got Liftoff to work.
Thanks! I saw that workaround but was too tired last night. I'll give it a go.
