This feels very binary-phobic to me. People can make art that reflects the binary trans identities. There are any number of artists out there that make art of people that are unambiguously nonbinary. Tumblr is full of people making art of trans women proudly rocking beards. And that's fine. People make art that reflects their experiences, and there's nothing wrong with that. It would be rude of me as binary trans person to tell them they have to include binary trans people in all their art. It would be rude of me as a white person to tell a black artist they have to include white people in all their drawings.

Not every piece of artwork has to represent all people. Sometimes art will represent all sides of the trans community, sometimes trans artists will want to make art that reflects just their own lived experiences. It's binary-phobic and invalidating to say that binary trans people aren't allowed to create art that represents them. I don't know if the artist themselves is a binary trans person, but it would make a lot of sense if that were the case. We're all trans here, but people can make art that reflects their own individual experiences of being trans.

@isleepinahammock this is too symbolic to be „just art“.

Btw. It would be nice just to feel heard.
you don’t give me this feeling.
Feels more than a bite.

Imagine if I told you, "Your comment feels a little too non binary."

Do you not see the problem with language like that?
