I have these forehead creases/wrinkles that give me a ton of dysphoria. I feel like they make me look super masc whenever I make any kind of expression.

I wanted to get bangs and just hide them, but I have a kinda strong widows peak and bangs won’t work according to a hair stylist I talked to. I’ve heard about making a habit of various creams, but the explanations are kind of vague. They just say collagen cream or peptides and I don’t trust search results when I look for stuff like that.

So does anyone with a widows peak have any ideas about managing bangs or does anyone with similar wrinkles have any recommendations for clearing them up?

i take oral finasteride and minoxidil with some supplements for hair growth. its helped fill out my hair a lot compared to before i started hrt but hasnt quite resolved the widows peak, if it ever will.

one thing i havent seen anyone else mention is microneedling. in theory its supposed to help with both wrinkles and hair. basically the idea is you jab a bunch of tiny needles into your skin to cause damage that increases blood flow and causes a healing response. theres some evidence that it can help thicken hair on the scalp, so might help with the widows peak. using it on your forehead might help with the wrinkles too. basically the idea is causing the micro damage and the associated healing can increase the amount of collagen in the skin and make it tighter, helping smooth out wrinkles.

i got a Dr. Pen microneedling device. it has adjustable needle depth and speed. a pen has been shown to be much more effective and safe than a dermaroller, which can cause scarring and potentially hyperpigmentation if i remember correctly. im not 100% sure how well it has worked because hair growth is slow, but ive done it on my scalp a couple times lol.

Thanks for the tip, but my widows peak is unfortunately natural. I luckily didn’t suffer any hair loss before hrt.

like you had a widows peak even before puberty? my understanding is its something pretty much everyone gets going through male puberty, at least to some degree, whether they experience pattern baldness or not. trans masc people get one too when they start hrt. who knows you might get lucky and lose yours lol.

I have amnesia from a bad head injury as a teen. So I don’t actually know, but I’ve had it as long as I can remember. I’d love to lose it if it meant I could do bangs easily and hide my forehead. I’ve been toying with the idea of shaving it, but I’ve heard that can be a nightmare of its own.
