Me: "who are any of these people?"
Things they're best known for:
Dinesh from Silicon Valley
Raj from Big Bang Theory
Kumar from Harold and Kumar, and also the Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement during the Obama Administration
I would say that Kumail Nanjiani might also be well-known these days for being the guy who had a role in the Marvel flop "Eternals," and a subsequently hilarious press junket and social media tour.
And Kal Penn was also Dr. Kutner in "House MD," which was mostly notable because his character was suddenly and unceremoniously killed off so that Penn could go work for Obama.
Silicon Valley was pretty big when it was on. Now Kumail is just in everything. Can catch his voice in a ton of animated stuff, too.
I’ll always know him as Prismo
There was a great story about why he didnt voice him in the first season of Fiona and Cake since I noticed right away when it wasnt his voice. Thankfully he was back in season 2 and all was right with the world.
Kumail Nanjiani also had a role in the awful Kenobi series. Although of the three I think Kunal Nayyar is the one who had the least remarkable roles.
Don't forget Sarah Silverman, known for stand up comedy (?)
Star Trek: Voyager
Wait what!!
https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Rain_Robinson
I remember rewatching it a couple years ago and being like... Wait is that Sarah Silverman?
Omg, I watched Voyager 100 times and never recognised her
For the voice of glitchy in Wreck it Ralph
Also for the Bob's Burgers fans, Sarah her sister Laura play the twins Ollie and Andy Pesto, respectively.
That's right. Also (among other things) for appearances in SNL.
She had a show and was on a bunch of celebrity roasts too
I have to recommend her comedy special PostMortem from last year about dealing with the deaths of her parents. Amazing performance.
And support of Israel's genocide
I used to think she was cool
Sadly, she's shitty.
Known for fucking Matt Damon
And Orange is the New Black
Silverman from supporting genocide.
I feel like Kumail has come a long way since Silicon Valley. I see him all the time, he even does commercials still.
I know him from Taskmaster!
Kumar worked in the white house? An actor got that jobb??
You'll never guess what Tom Morello studied at uni
Why the surprise. A fucking actor sat in the Oval Office for 8 years.
The second guy was in the big bang theory and the third guy was in Dr. House, idk who the first guy is
Sir or madam the third one is Kumar, he went to White Castle long before he applied to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital
And then left that show to join the Obama administration. Seriously.
I was sure this was a troll when it happened, but no, it was real. Does anyone know if he did a good job?
As I recall, he was a perfectly competent staff member. I think he worked on the speechwriting team? It was a while ago, now, so I don’t remember most of the details.
Iirc, he only worked in the first Obama administration, and then returned to Hollywood. Apparently, having a perfectly normal job for four years was enough.
Office of public engagement and intergovernmental affairs.
I believe Obama tweeted about it when he left and that he did
So the White House didn't kill him off when he left there; that's good.
Kumail Nanjiani is a comedian and actor. He was in Silicon Valley and more recently he got shredded for Marvel's Eternals. He's pretty funny.
He's also in the Fallout TV series and the Obi Wan Kenobi series
He was also in an episode of Community for the final paintball episode.
Deputy Custodian Lapari, he's in at least one episode in season 5, Analysis of Cork-Based Networking, the paintball episode is season 6, Modern Espionage.
I almost read that name as "Kathy Najimy" (the actress from Sister Act and Hocus Pocus) just now.
Don't forget she's also Peggy from King of the Hill!
So sad he got jacked for that movie, but at least he remained jacked.
Without your comment for context, I thought he was being blamed for how bad/mediocre Eternals was
This is also what i thought the comment meant
That's funny, honestly his section with his manager was the best part of the movie. "He tried to kill me in me sleep!" "I thought he was a vampire!"
"To shreds you say?" /s
Silicon Valley & Adventure Time are his best roles imo but he’s pretty prolific
