Its very funny to me that these days Link is the genderfluid one of much fan canon obsession.
Back in my day, Zelda just dressed up as a ninja sometimes and was a mysterious ninja badass, smoke bombs and everything!
It must have been a pretty tight binder, fooled me!
Presumably also must have done a fair deal of voice training as well, as Link doesn't even figure it out untill ... they(?) literally flash him.
that could also imply that zelda is trans femme and was boy moding as sheik, and just using her masc voice.
