The global economy? Prices are what they were a year ago here in China. Next week I'll report if they went up in Vietnam.
There have been simultaneous bad harvests in Vietnam and Brazil so the world market price of coffee has gone up. The Trump tariffs then add to that.
Of course, the producers are just on link in the value chain and by the time you get a cup at a café, you might not notice it. I've not particularly noticed it here in Italy.
I believe what they are referring to is that Trump fucked Americans by implementing tariffs, which affects the “global economy” from the perspective of Americans, since we’re the ones who end up paying the additional costs for things we import.
So the global economy is kinda like the World Series?
You know us Americans, and how we like to think we’re the center of the universe. 🤷♂️
Am American, can confirm we are culturally the center of the universe, was accused of not actually being American in Kazakhstan for not being familiar with some popular song from like 2023 or something.
I assume that’s also why you were downvoted just now too. Shame on you. 😉
That one change in particular fucked-up some people here in Brazil. I remember shoe manufacturers and honey producers complaining they had a bad time.
It just wasn't enough to appear on the economical indicators, that improved instead.
