We are here to talk and discuss about one of our passions, not fight or be exposed to hate. Posts or responses that are hateful will be deleted to keep the atmosphere good. If repeatedly violated, not only will the comment be deleted but a ban will be handed out as well. We judge each case individually.
3. No excessive self-promotion
Try to keep it to 10% self-promotion / 90% other stuff in your post history.
This is to prevent people from posting for the sole purpose of promoting their own website or social media account.
4. Stay on-topic; no memes, funny videos, giveaways, reposts, or low-effort posts
This community is mostly for discussion and news. Remember to search for the thing you're submitting before posting to see if it's already been posted.
We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.
5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW
Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.
No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.
6. No linking to piracy
Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.
We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Lmao! Resident Evil has a plot? Its essentially the same game with a different wallpaper every single time. Trapped in a remote area with zombies (or zombie equivalent), must solve puzzle and kill big bad monster at the end of game. Oh, also Umbrella corp. Sorry for spoling the plot. There you go I just summarized every single resident evil game ever made. What's there to leak? None of them are are a narrative masterpiece. Dont get me wrong I grew up playing RE and it was awesome but let's be serious here, you can only beat a dead horse so much
What a reductionist view. Sure they have similar threads and some find a way to differentiate themselves better than others, but to suggest RE doesn't have plot is a wild take.
You are wrong, all action games doesn't have a plot actually. You kill enemies, then you kill bosses, then you kill the final boss. Let's leak everything and don't care
I don't agree with this entirely. Yes, Resident Evil heavily relies on tropes but they are varied enough to keep things interesting. And while the overall worldbuilding is sort of generic, the story arcs of the individual characters are not IMO.
It's definitely more towards character-scenes than any overarching plot where a big bad wants to use a virus to rule the world. I genuinely think the messed-up behavior of Jack from Resident Evil 7 was well-done though. The general theme of "a weird, angry, and incredibly decisive guy" is generally underused.
It's not beyond them to write something pretty good on that vein.

Ive played them all, re1 when it was new (changed my life) 2, nemesis, 4 (actually I skipped 5 cause it looked like shit) 6 was FINE and village had tall vampire mommy
but yes, isolated kill zombies kill big thing credits
I will still buy and play this game prolly
