why would any country send athletes to the Olympics hosted in the US?
I really hope Canada just says fuck no. yes, it sucks for athletes who have been training for this. the whole situation also sucks for the rest of us.
I won't be supporting this and I will try to avoid supporting any athlete or sponsor of this.
As much as I want that to happen, it won't. Look at previous examples of Olympics hosted in Russia or China. Or look at the World Cup football in Qatar, in stadiums that were built by slaves, some of them died during construction. Countries didn't boycot those events, why would that happen now?
Those host nations weren't actively insulting or bullying their customers. I think it would be much easier for all nations to snub America, because it has been made clear that Dogey America doesn't like them. Foreign politicians would be lauded for disowning the olympics, since America has been stoking the fires of nationalism by being a jerk.
Because those events didn't run the risk of athletes being arrested for ??? and deported to a gulag in a third country
Disclaimer: I'm not in favor of what is happening in the US
But honestly, is there a real threat for the athletes this time around?
And by "some of them", you mean an estimated 6500 workers have died building the stadiums in Qatar. Didn't stop Johnny football from enjoying his pints with the games.
...f*cking nazis, man; i hope the boycott is vast and conspicuous...
Oh please please please
As an Armchair Olympian, I would gladly give up my dreams to say fuck you to Trump.
You only need to buy transportation to the US.
Just have your athletes self deport thru ICE after their visa expires!
50% cheaper than normal!
