Uncomfortable truth: violence has solved some of the largest issues across the history of humanity.

[-] untakenusername@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

yeah its also created some of the biggest problems

all wars, all genocides ect, that's pretty bad stuff

Violence didn’t create war or genocide, those are a result of nationalism and racism, respectively. Violence is the means used to accomplish the goal, but the motivation is what does the creating.

To be clear I’m not pro-violence or something, but it is kinda funny to me when you hear “violence is the answer” and open a history book to see time and time again that violence is the answer for quite a few problems.

Your apathy is even less helpful.

I'd prefer to not give Trump a reason to use the Insurrection Act.

I'm not pro-starting-the-shooting either but let's be real, he will find an excuse to use it whether people fight back or not.

We can stop pretending he has any restraint we aren't even six months in.

Tell me how every dictatorship has been overthrown. I’ll give you a hint: those that chastize calls for retaliation tend to be labeled “fascist sympathizers” by history.
