Originally from Reddit as r/196, 196 is a community where the "rule" is to post something before you leave.

Here on Lemmy, it's mostly become a place to share memes, and because this is on the instance lemmy.blahaj.zone, it's cultivated a largely LGBT-positive identity with a focus on the trans community.

You'll find that most posts are titled with "rule" in the name. It's not really necessary, but it's become a staple of what makes a 196 post a 196 post.
