I mean, she was one of the few who were wise enough to voluntarily not take The Ring.

Does Aunt Jane just walk around with bags and bags of money?

To add on to what Blaze said, https://lemmyverse.net/communities is the best search tool to see if it a community on a given topic already exists.

Yup, I'd recognize Hermione anywhere.

It's "child-sized".

What would they lay on a d4? :)

I think Alec Watson's video on this is excellent: Algorithms are breaking how we think (37:51)

Great to see existing communities revived with new management!

The various spaceflight communities I've been growing (!spacex@sh.itjust.works, !spaceflight@sh.itjust.works, !spaceflightmemes@sh.itjust.works, !rocketlab@lemmy.nz) are chugging along nicely, aided by some posts by @llamacoffee@lemmy.world and @jia_tan@lemmy.blahaj.zone.

I've been able to be a bit more hands-off with !electricvehicles@slrpnk.net and !teslamotors@lemmy.zip, thanks to @Sunshine@lemmy.ca, @sabreW4K3@lazysoci.al, @schizoidman@lemm.ee, and @BrikoX@lemmy.zip. I've started crossposting some posts to !byd@lemmy.world, !geely@lemmy.world, !rivian@lemmy.zip, and !xiaomi@lemdro.id to build them up a bit.

Attempted consolidation of corvid communities to !corvids@sopuli.xyz went... poorly, but hey, you win some, you lose some.

!cubers@lemmy.world had a few posts in the past week, which was nice.

I'm still feeding !nosafetysmokingfirst@sh.itjust.works with Reddit content, but a couple weeks ago someone other than me posted one!

Memes on !leaky_cauldron@diagonlemmy.social seem to be getting quite a bit of traction, though the inactivity of the single admin on that instance is a bit worrying in the long-term... might be soon time to consider relocating.

Yeah, it lifted off and didn't destroy the pad. For a first launch, I'd say that's pretty good!

Edit:

The flight time of 18 seconds is also significantly longer than the first SpaceX rocket, for example

Spectrum's first flight is actually pretty similar to the first Falcon 1 flight, and even exhibited a similar failure mode:

The vehicle had a noticeable rolling motion after liftoff, as shown on the launch video, rocking back and forth a bit, and then at T+26 seconds rapidly pitched over.

“The final mishap report identified the proximate cause of the mishap as an inability of New Glenn’s first stage to restart the engines, preventing a reentry burn from occurring, and resulting in the loss of the stage,” the FAA said in its statement. It noted that Blue Origin identified seven corrective actions, but did not enumerate them.

“Our ambitious attempt to land the booster, ‘So You’re Telling Me There’s a Chance,’ was unsuccessful due to our three BE-4 engines not re-igniting properly,” the company said in a social media post published the same time as the FAA statement. “The report identified seven corrective actions, focusing on propellant management and engine bleed control improvements, which we’re already addressing.”

The company said its next flight was planned for late spring, which will include another booster landing attempt.

The FAA also announced March 31 that it accepted the findings of a separate investigation into the loss of SpaceX’s Starship vehicle on its seventh test flight, which took place the same day as the first New Glenn launch.
