Right? I understand Windows is mass surveillance spyware, but holy shit the Linux proselytizing on this site is worse than any Christian mission, it's straight up ridiculous. If anything, all the constant nagging will further entrench some users into Windows out of spite.

The thumbnail very briefly had me convinced that Trump developed the ability to cast fireballs

I love this idea, but the main obstacle this has to overcome is the voter's knowledge of the issues and any given candidate stances on them. If we implemented this in the US, I feel like most people would still simply delegate all their votes to one candidate or all candidates of a particular party. It's a lot of information for a working person to keep track of. Any idea on how to overcome this with paper ballots? Or are computerized ballots with all relevant information embedded within the way to go?

I hear that. I was an Apple user for years and years but the only reason I stuck their phones for so long was the fact that I jailbroke them to maintain control over my own devices. Jailbreaking has been getting clunkier, less useful, and way less stable so I was frustrated enough to look for an alternative.

I know you're not looking for alternatives (and I apologize for the unsolicited recommendation), but if you ever do, keep GrapheneOS on your radar. As far as I know, it's one of the only non-Apple routes to a free (control-wise) phone that isn't dependent on integration with a giant tech corporation.

Absolutely, I'm not sure who else could believably play him. Jesse Eisenberg is made for this role lol

Right? Tech literacy is dead and smartphones killed it

Love Rashomon, it was so good. Definitely make it your next watch. Pioneered ambiguous endings in movies. It gives the audience a reason to keep thinking about it after watching because it allows them the freedom to determine their own canon version of the story.

People don't talk about this enough. It's one thing to be an arrogant prick with self-esteem that's way too high, but the same thing goes for people with self-esteem that's way too low. In either case you're walking on eggshells around them trying to make sure you don't say the wrong thing and send them into a temper tantrum or self-pity spiral. I have a little more sympathy for the latter, but both forms are incredibly toxic imo.

unhoused? say what it actually is. homelessness. news sites need to stop promoting the stupid euphemism treadmill, it doesn't help anyone but themselves.

Your thoughts are valid. But that's the thing - they're just thoughts. They won't hurt you and nobody will judge you for having them.

Thoughts and emotions flow in and out of your awareness for a reason. If you want to come to a decision, you have to first understand where your thoughts and emotions are coming from. You should analyze them objectively as they come without indulging them further. Kind of like analyzing why movie characters do the things they do but for yourself.

Why do you feel like you don't deserve a boyfriend? Why do you feel like you're gross? What do you think is causing these feelings?
