Trump leaving so much control over his presidency to Musk, seems pretty weird coming from such an egomaniac who want to "purge the swamp". It is all a plan to get ride of the richest man on earth and get the love from the Americans people he so desire.

In Dune, The baron Harkonnen cant control Arrakis because of the rebellious Fremen. He devise a simple plan:

• He put the Beast, Rabban, his dumb nephew on head of Arrakis with only one order: "Squeeze them of all the spice"

• He know that the population will soon hate Rabban for his cruelty.

• Then he will pretend to hear the population, remove Rabban and send his beloved nephew Feyd Rautha.

• Feyd will undo the most cruel laws from Rabban, and be seen as a savior.

This tale is right out of Machiavel. In his book "the Prince"'( 1532), the Italian advice the prince do to exactly that to gain control over a rebellious country.

Trump gave Musk the power to "squeeze the USA". Soon enough, Musk will be hated for his drastic measures (Since a nazi salute is not enough)

Then Trump will remove him, bring back some fund, and grant, and be seen as the USA savior.
