Complacency is complicity

Lmao. Look at OPs comments. They actually believe this shit. Based on all the other shitposts they post here and all throughout lemmy, they probably picked it up on reddit or some other trash site, thought it was funny, and came here to share.

Basically lemmy.blahaj.zone has gotten some criticism because of the server rules and stickied instance posts where we are to respect everyone's identity/neopronouns. There are a few people who identity as something people consider not real, such as dragons. Neopronouns arent necessarily meant to be literally real, and someone may identify as something they feel resembles them such as a dragon, or "fae". But some people believe that since dragons/fae/etc don't literally exist then they aren't valid identities/neopronouns. These people think that lemmy.blahaj.zone is enabling trolls identifing as non-real things. It also means that people in this 196 community need(ed) to respect people's identities even if they didn't think they were valid. Apparently that was too much to ask for the mods of this community.

Personally i don't know, nor do i care, if the 1-2 people are trolling. If they are, they aren't typical nasty trolls. They are just like any other user to me. Imo If someone wants to identify as a dragon then good for them. If anything it helps identify people who are openly combative with the instance rules.

All that is to say, it was clear to me that the mods want to move to another instance where they don't have to respect identities they don't consider valid. And my suspicion was right because the mod spelled it out down thread

[...] I can guarantee we will not be expected to entertain trolls [...]

I disagree. It is a community for gender diverse folk and the rules are there to protect them. This is not about the dragon. It is about respecting someone's identity. "Dragons aren't real" in the context of someone identifying as a dragon is no different than a TERF telling a trans woman that trans women don't exist. It it inherently questioning her identity, transphobic, and attacking her.

Can you see how that would be problematic? I think anyone surpise pikachu'ed by this should consider learning how to be a better ally instead of thinking they can say hurtful stuff.

.world did for a little bit but i think they ended up deciding that it can be referenced for an already done crime, whereas if it is said in context before someone commits a crime then it would be considered inciting violence or whatever.

So it's ok in this context of Luigi, the alleged killer.

If he gets caught, yes. I want to believe in the process of our law. And part of our laws support jury nullification. Now whether or not i would personally vote to convict/nullify is something I've been reflecting on and I'm not sure how i would vote. I do believe murder is wrong, but im also interested to know the actual data behind how many people died because claims were denied by united health group. We have two murderers, one who blatantly broke the law and one who did it within the law to make 22 billion in profit in 2023. How many people died to make that profit? And do those deaths make murder right? Idk.

Hello, I'm very sorry you have had to experience this.

I got kicked out at 16. For me it wasn't so much missing my specific parents, but i just missed the parents i didn't have. You know, the ideal parents that existed only in my head; the ones that told me they're proud of me, they support my choices, they accept me, they love me.

But beyond that i think at least for some of us it is normal to want to remember the good things despite the bad things, and it can be normal to miss those good things. My advice is to remember the person as a whole and tell yourself you're better than how they treated you. You're worth more than that. It hurts, but if they really loved you then they wouldn't kick you out over something so trivial as your boyfriend being Hungarian.

It's up to you if you want to keep the door open. I personally did and gave them room to talk to me and apologize. We talked superficially occasionally but they never did apologize before dying. i just accepted they were shit parents long ago so their deaths were just like any other day.

The instance blocks hexbear and lemmygrad. I also just block .ml on my account.
