If you don't know less than 50% of Americans have a passport. The ones who don't, I really see the limitation in their thinking. They never saw that most of the world is in fact freer than them, has a better system in place for their people, and doesn't have some of the major problems that America has. I'm currently in a country where over 90% of items are made in that country. America (made in China) can't comprehend this efficiency. P.S. I'm American

The thing that gets me though is how dangerous many Americans say other parts of the world is without having ever been there lol. I travel and I'll tell you America is the MOST dangerous country outside of warzones. Yes even more dangerous that Arab countries for women. Lol I know that propaganda is in a lot of Americans minds.

OK so who's actually been outside the country and can talk geopolitics and actually know from experience what they are talking about?

The best way to hide the truth is by saying it. I'm like batgirl fr lol.

[-] lunatique@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 hours ago

Yeah you are pretty delusional. Seeing how you're telling me what's happening on my side of the planet without being there

The reason you cannot ban weapons is because anything could be a weapon. A rock, pencil, barb wire, glass, car, etc. Your ideals are not possible, it just sounds good. Banning weapons wouldn't make crime vanish. Also the whole point of crime is that you break the rules to do it. Your strict rules would just be broken by certain people hence creating the "crime". Guns and knives weren't created to cause crime but they are efficient at harming people. They both have very practical uses outside of crime.

If you truly want to REDUCE crime, then focus on the mindset of people, change it for the better. For a positive mind won't harm for no reason or just because of their feelings.

Imagine watching me for a week lol and not even realizing a different photo same face, like imagine. . I don't care about any person on her on a "cred" level.

I have influence over a major politician directly in the current administration and I break NEWS stories on topics dealing with political corruption. One level off from a whistle blower. Now go play in a camp fire 🤡

Assassin's creed needs to go away. They are milking it and are trying to find any genre of history to exploit next. It doesn't even make sense anymore. I'm not surprised they we weak and folded. They are just cash grabbing and have no backbone

[-] lunatique@lemmy.ml 4 points 19 hours ago

These people were brainwashed and have the same traits as A.I. without all the references built in. So I'm not surprised by the similarities.

Look you don't need to be searched or expecting a search. If someone steals your laptop you are covered SIGNIFICANTLY more if it's encrypted which gives you privacy because they wouldn't be able to see your data. Doesn't matter if it's a risk to you. It's for the privacy. It's the mindset not just the random act

[-] lunatique@lemmy.ml 10 points 21 hours ago

Sigh. It doesn't impact performance. That had a had a higher chance of being the type of partition you created. Also, in the PRIVACY group are you really confused about why you want privacy?

Blows my mind that most people don't know this let alone do it.

I'm sure the community will fund a way to install them but honestly this is needed. People have to humble google and put them in their place once and for all. If people allow this to happen. Then those people don't deserve freedom anymore.

I'll keep my apps on my phone and just won't update them. Or I'll install a Linux distro on a capable phone on small tablet and use the applications for desktop or Linux mobile.

WE DON'T NEED GOOGLE.

I figured I'd ask you guys since you know about or at least like mushrooms. I heard Paul Stamets say they are equivalent to smoking cigarettes that's how toxic they are to the human body. Now I'm not just believing him instantly because he's some expert on mushrooms. I am researching and gathering data. Are they toxic for consumption, are they as bad as he says, and are if so are the less mature stage (white button mushroom) free from these toxins?

Also bonus question can mushrooms spread their fungus inside your body and dwell for weeks in your body? That question is out there but mushrooms are super good at spreading.

I filmed a quick video to show it in action. I want to know if you all know any software like this. I'm currently using Gnome with paperwm. I want to switch it up though. I could use eDEX but i figured I'd ask if any other unique applications or even better desktop environments were out there. No not KDE (even though I'm a fangirl), niri, hyprland, xfce or any other common used one. Something super unique

I wanted to like this app so much. Offline dictation to issue commands to your phone like a non stalking version of Bixby, sounds awesome. The problem is the app is horrible (for me) at understanding English commands and a lot of times when it understands me it just doesn't do the action. Is there a way to fix this, do you have the same issues?

This makes a world of difference. I know many people may know of it but may not actually do it. It Protects your files in case your computer is ever stolen and prevents alphabet agencies from just brute forcing into your Laptop or whatever.

I found that Limine (bootloader) has the fastest decryption when paired with LUKS at least for my laptop.

If your computer isn't encrypted I could make a live USB of a distro, plug it into your computer, boot, and view your files on your hard drive. Completely bypassing your Login manager. If your computer is encrypted I could not. Use a strong password and different from your login

Benefits of Using LUKS with GRUB Enhanced Security

  • Data Protection: LUKS (Linux Unified Key Setup) encrypts disk partitions, ensuring that data remains secure even if the physical device is stolen.
  • Full Disk Encryption: It can encrypt the entire disk, including sensitive files and swap space, preventing unauthorized access to confidential information.

Compatibility with GRUB

  • Unlocking from Bootloader: GRUB can unlock LUKS-encrypted partitions using the cryptomount command, allowing the system to boot securely without exposing sensitive data.
  • Support for LVM: When combined with Logical Volume Management (LVM), LUKS allows for flexible partition management while maintaining encryption.

I would like to say that the search for extraterrestrial life is scientifically feasible. The reason I am starting with this is because some in the scientific community are just starting to take it serious and not saying you're a quack for speaking on it.

I also want to mention that I am not one of the scientists who participated in the writing of this paper, however I do conduct my own independent research.

The reason for this is because I have witnessed one of these extraterrestrials several times over the past years. At first like most would I assumed they were UFOs in the common sense (spaceship from space) but it became clear to me that they were in fact energy (plasma) and a lifeforms. This conclusion of mine predates the writing of the PDF by over a decade. I am only starting to see "catch up" in the scientific and governmental funded fields in the last 5 years.

I will end my statement with this. I can confirm without a doubt that extraterrestrials are on this planet. I cannot confirm if this is a good or bad thing.

P.S. i don't agree with 100% of the pdf

I'm turning 41, but I don't feel like celebrating.

Our generation is running out of time to save the free Internet built for us by our fathers.

What was once the promise of the free exchange of information is being turned into the ultimate tool of control.

Once-free countries are introducing dystopian measures such as digital IDs (UK), online age checks (Australia), and mass scanning of private messages (EU).

Germany is persecuting anyone who dares to criticize officials on the Internet. The UK is imprisoning thousands for their tweets. France is criminally investigating tech leaders who defend freedom and privacy.

A dark, dystopian world is approaching fast - while we're asleep. Our generation risks going down in history as the last one that had freedoms -and allowed them to be taken away.

We've been fed a lie.

We've been made to believe that the greatest fight of our generation is to destroy everything our forefathers left us: tradition, privacy, sovereignty, the free market, and free speech.

By betraying the legacy of our ancestors, we've set ourselves on a path toward self-destruction - moral, intellectual, economic, and ultimately biological.

So no, I'm not going to celebrate today. I'm running out of time. We are running out of time.
