That's a good point, actually. When people are asking you to stop with "just go for a walk or exercise" it is not because it has no chance of working. It may be very effective for some people. But seriously, how likely is that this struggling adult person raised in the same culture as you with similar knowledge-base as yours didn't hear about the concept of going outside?
