That didn't make any difference last time.

That's just a good approach to life in general.

I have a misfortune of driving one of these pieces of shit. I needed an accessible minivan and allowed the dealer to convince me Pacifica was as good as Sienna. On paper, it was. Worst fucking car I've ever owned. $60k before $40k conversion. $100k brand new car.

AC that barely works in 40°C heat. Transmission that doesn't shift. Gas mileage that supercars and tanks can compete with. Ride quality of a boat in rough seas. Trunk that randomly decides not to close. Knobs and buttons that get stuck. Fuel hole designed so poorly it takes me 20 minutes to fill up this piece of shit because fuel gun keeps stopping.

This is just shit I remember. List is a long, not even mentioning multiple recalls.

FUCK Stellantis. They should be forced to buy back all the garbage they sold, but instead they'll just get bailed out when they go belly up.

I honestly can't think of any country about which this statement would be more wrong and I've lived in a bunch and been to a lot of them. But like I said in other comments, I don't blame you for punishing US as a whole.

[-] daq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago

I wouldn't blame you either way, but I doubt you'd agree that judging Canada or even Calgary based in general on Alberta is fair.

Geographically most of California is red as fuck.

You can literally walk down the street in some cities and go between pockets filled with rainbow flags and maga hatred mixed with messages about how much god loves everyone.

Treating US as a single location is a bit naive even though I understand where you're coming from. If we manage to get the orange pedo and other nazis out of fed, you can safely visit. Nothing wrong with continuing to punish the cunts who voted him in by not buying Kentucky whisky though.

Government subsidized is not the same thing as affordable. As soon as they are embedded, prices will go up.

Just look at Korean manufacturers in US. Some Hyundais/Kias are more expensive than Toyotas. They used to be a great cheap alternative.

Difference is Koreans actually build high quality cars and Chinese build quality is debatable.

I have to say though, the faster Tesla fucking burns, the better. Nazi trash can go fuck himself.

Also, there were like 3 washing machines on sale. Now you have 50/manufacturer.

All this instead of just hiring a few senior devs to contribute to any of the number of existing open source projects that are already infinitely better than any new thing they will come up with.

These are just wrappers for Proton. Why do we need one more? Just contribute those resources to Heroic. My dream is to not need steam either. I want to run games like we did before. Just launch an executable file.

[-] daq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 weeks ago

Why? It's already annoying to have to use steam and heroic. Why would anyone want a third app?

[-] daq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 weeks ago

You basically do already. Most cheaper PCs come with S mode enabled from the store. Turning it off requires accepting a scary disclaimer that it's a permanent change and you're likely to fuck up your computer.

I have to be honest though, I kinda like it for older relatives that I can't convince to switch to Linux. Prevents tech support calls to me. And if Android was setup the same way with a one time prompt, I'd be perfectly happy.
