this launcher has a tab for minecraft news, but that tab really justs embeds part of the minecraft website. so, by looking around and clicking on links, it’s possible to go to other pages!

i don’t remember exactly what i did there, but iirc it involved going through some microsoft help page and from there going on bing. and once you’ve got access to a search engine, you can basically do whatever. here, i just searched "play doom online" or something and ended up on that website!

tbh, i think it’s a fair decision on their part. it wasn’t just cursor theming, but also the cursor didn’t center properly, key combinations like CTRL-C would instead just type "c" (a big problem when you have text selected), and worst of all, the game straight up wouldn’t boot on nvidia graphics cards apparently. if you scroll to the end of this snapshot’s changelog, you’ll see they fixed a bunch of issues with Wayland. and rolling back support is their fix.

and it’s fair enough, imo. when you consider that fixing all these bugs just requires you to downgrade the LWJGL version (which seems to be what they did), that XWayland is what is expected since it’s been the behavior all this time and the vast majority of other games use it, that it’s possible for players (using mods and third-party launchers) to reenable Wayland support, and that most of these Wayland-only issues are problems with LWJGL/GLFW and not minecraft…

i’ll note that Muslims doing prayers in public in quebec started pretty recently, and most of it is grieving during pro-Palestine protests.

ok so a couple things for the people in this thread:

1. sometimes, when people complain, they don’t want advice. they just want to vent their frustration. that’s ok. your advice is just gonna come off as annoying, especially
2. if they’ve heard it a billion times already. and trust me, if you’re on the fediverse and complain about windows or macos, you’ve heard "just use linux lol" before.
3. holy shit stop doing victim blaming. this goes for everything btw. like. stop. "lol your fault for using windows" shut up. if you’re already doing victim blaming for trivial stuff, i don’t trust you for when much more serious problems arise.

i just wish OSM was more complete… it’s fine for big cities, but when you live in small rural areas it’s practically useless. my village only has its roads mapped, nothing else.

(and yes i know you can edit the map. and that it’s the entire point of OSM. i know that. but it takes a ton of effort, and it’s an ongoing effort because cities change!)

OSM contributors, you are amazing and cherished and your work does not go unappreciated. i just wish there was more of us…
