I have several friends who are trans men who have reported to me that the urge started after they started testosterone. It always makes me smile :)

So it’s not generically “queer” Republicans on the rise, it’s “gay white male Republicans”, then they changed the title to make it seem like it’s unexpected.

Boy this rhetoric sounds familiar. “Democracy is under attack by Republicans”. Oh right, it’s the exact same goddamn thing Democrats have been saying for the last 15 years. And yet even though they’ve been in power a significant part of that time, somehow we keep inching towards fascism.

At some point you realize that the only real question is do we want fascism next week, or do we want fascism next month? And while I agree that voting for Drumpf is a much worse choice for the country, maybe if Democrats actually did stuff to make every day citizens lives better then maybe it really wouldn’t be much of an argument.

There was a speaker at CPAC who just said that they’re trying to make the US a Christian nation by force, even if it means abandoning democracy.

Transgender means that the gender you are assigned at birth does not align with the gender you identify as. Generally speaking, non-binary people are considered part of the trans community, but some non-binary choose to not identify as trans.

I saw a report that someone my age will need $3m to retire at 65. The average total income from 22-65 for people my age is around $1.4m. So I guess we never get to retire.

I remember having the light-measured-in-watts discussion years ago when LED lights were still considered a novelty. Of course, this was with a videographer who actually understood the issue. He complained that it wasn’t a good idea to limit car headlights based on their wattage, which is how all the laws at the time were written. 5 years later, suddenly there were LED headlights blinding everyone.

As a queer person, I COMPLETELY understand her sentiment here. I don’t agree with it, but I understand it.
