I choose Stinkachu!

Will take about 1 hour over Zoom. You'll be testing an app prototype. DM if interested.

I get it. They want the audience to feel the same fear the character is feeling in the moment. But to me, a jump scare is pretty much the laziest way to do that. And for people like me with already existing anxiety issues, it makes the rest of the movie an unpleasant experience. Instead of engaging with the story, I'm just trying to protect myself against the next time this mystery movie, or whatever, wants to scare the shit out of me. I've been an avid movie goer for years, but the problem has me thinking I might start watching most movies at home now where I can control the volume.

My 6 month old wrote my masters dissertation about the effects of plagiarism on the academic integrity of preschool PhD programs. She's brilliant and meta.

Why not share with the class?

I repeated my order twice and still didn't get what I asked for. Once I got home and took a bite, I realized dude had made me one of the best turkey subs I had ever tasted! It's like he knew to give me the sandwich I needed, not the one I thought I deserved. I should have never doubted him.

Healthcare co-ops exist. But a good number of people get health insurance through their jobs, and those jobs usually contract with one of the big corporations.

I don't know about content, but the Linux and self-hosting communities on Lemmy are infinitely more helpful than the ones on Reddit.

I'm working my way to a CS degree and am currently slogging my way through an 8-week Trig course. I barely passed College Algebra and have another Algebra and two Calculus classes ahead of me.

How much of this will I need in a programming job? And, more importantly, if I suck at Math, should I just find another career path?

The real question is how he still got 40% of the vote.

I truly believe the only reason he didn't get elected is that he did all that weird shit while being a Black man.

Technically, he froze to death.

Per the article, takes 15 years of adverse possession to claim squatter's rights in KY. Order that got homeowner kicked out was a protective order that stemmed from a physical altercation between the "squatter" and one of the homeowner's roommates.

Based on a ratio of box office to production budget, Borderlands is still the biggest bomb hands down.

When I served on a jury, the judge had us leave the courtroom multiple times. Once the trial was over, the judge told us what was being discussed when we left the room, and the reason the information had been excluded from testimony during the trial.

Had the DA tried to introduce this information while the jury was in the room it probably would have made it more difficult for us to come to the same verdict. I imagine that if the DA tried to do this often enough, it could lead to a mistrial and possible disciplinary action.

After seeing that my wireless speeds were much faster than the speeds I was getting over Ethernet, I decided to invest in some new cables. I didn't know it before, but I saw while I was changing them out that my current cables were Cat 5e. While putting my network together, I had just been grabbing whatever cables I could find in my scrap drawers. Now I have Cat 8 cables and my speeds jumped from 7MB/s to an average of over 40MB/s. It's a much bigger improvement than I expected, especially for such a small investment.
