Introducing Dual-Ink Cards (www.disneylorcana.com)

Ever since we revealed our good friend Bolt, many of you have speculated that dual-ink cards were coming to Disney Lorcana TCG, and you were right!

When the first character for Disney Lorcana’s upcoming Archazia’s Island set was revealed, it sparked a debate throughout the TCG community. Lorcana’s introduction of Bolt, star of the 2008 animated film of the same name, seemed to have the visual identity of both Amber and Steel characters. Many immediately suspected what we eventually learned: Archazia’s Island will introduce dual-ink cards to the game.

The Disney Lorcana promotion for the new Pack Rush game mode will start on February 9th and will run from then until February 15th. These free packs will be given away in the United States and in Canada, and while only physical locations are eligible sites for the free packs, the Disney Lorcana team has shared a list on the game’s site of all the recognized stores that offer Disney Lorcana products. Unfortunately for those interested in taking part in this promotion, part of the onus is put on the player in that you must “reach out to your local organized play store to see if they are participating.”

Accelerationism has made things worse for everyone. Now we have a US president who has declared his intention to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip of Palestinians. If you want things to get better then you have to act in a way that is useful to that end. That means voting for parties that are to the left of fascists and that have a chance of winning. In the US, that's the Democrats.

In lieu of the typical months-long spoiler season for the upcoming set, Ravensburger has instead revealed the next three sets early. At last month’s European Continental Championship we learned about Archazia’s Island and the set that follows it in June, Reign of Jafar, and this week at London Toy Fair we learned the name of the Q3 2025 set: Fabled.

Why give us so many details about this year’s upcoming sets rather than focus on March’s Archazia’s Island? Why this sudden change in reveal strategy? Well, without any new cards to overanalyze, let’s dive way too deep into my wild theory about what these three upcoming expansions are setting up.

[Alt-text] Stella deduces she is not familiar with the contents of a book that Peach is investigating.

I saw this text during my play through and immediately thought it should go in this community. And I eventually got around to that. =)

Disney Lorcana is getting ready to release its seventh set, Archazia’s Island. Archazia’s Island will be the third set since Ursula’s Return and will likely continue to build on the hints from Shimmering Skies and Azurite Sea about Jafar’s nefarious plans. These plot beats are set to come to a head with the Reign of Jafar set later this year. In addition to continuing Lorcana’s ongoing narrative, Archazia’s Island is also set to introduce some exciting new Glimmers to the game, some for characters that have yet to appear in Lorcana.

Archazia’s Island will focus heavily on Disney’s pet characters, so fans of the media giant's many animal protagonists or sidekicks will likely be interested in this set. The set’s tagline, “learn new tricks,” also has players speculating that some new mechanics will be revealed in the set. Spoilers for new Lorcana cards usually come out closer to a set’s release, so anyone hungry for more information on Archazia’s Island should be paying attention to the set’s release dates to know when new reveals should be expected.

Though there's been no official confirmation for a video game version of Disney's Lorcana, there have been signs pointing toward its active development. LorcanaNews posted on X yesterday to share a recent job listing on Indeed that included a few interesting candidate preferences.

The first people the fascists are going to go after will likely be minorities and immigrants in prison.

If Joe Biden pardoning Hunter Biden doesn't bother you then neither should this. This is what we should be calling for, because the justice system isn't fair to anyone, not just Hunter Biden.

To the accelerationists the lives of the Palestinian people are the cost of doing business. Dirtying their hands by voting Democrat would inconvenience them by violating their moral compass. Even though Harris pledged to do everything in her power to end the war in Gaza. The magnitude and scope of an indefinite genocide were immaterial to accelerationists. By contributing to Harris' loss they achieved a moral victory over the progressives and socialists who are also anti-racist, but were willing to leverage power for the benefit of the Palestinian people.

Read this comment section and what the users arguing against democracy had to say. Then watch the video and see how the video is talking about their arguments and their refusal to leverage power for the benefit of others. Their arguments have to twist the video's words and hope you don't watch it.

In a democracy, voting is how we leverage power in elections. When we show up, we win. The accelerationists weren't willing to show up for Palestinians, who they professed to care about. They aren't going to show up for Palestinians, trans people, or anyone for elections in 2026 and 2028. A user argues, in this comment section, against utilizing elections.

Assuming we continue to have elections, please reject accelerationism. Things do not get better by making them worse. Things only get better by learning from our mistakes and using that knowledge to make things better.

Wow, the turn around time on that was fast.

[-] ToastedPlanet 48 points 7 months ago

I have seen no material evidence to this effect.

Here's a user's comment that listed three sources:

https://lemmy.world/comment/13069715

She’s taken a stance, multiple times. The left doesn’t want to hear it.

March - https://www.npr.org/2024/03/04/1234822836/kamala-harris-benny-gantz-gaza-cease-fire-israel-hamas

July - https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/25/harris-netanyahu-israel-cease-fire-00171315

September - https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/harris-trump-presidential-debate-election-2024/card/harris-calls-for-ceasefire-in-gaza-while-trump-claims-she-hates-israel--isokhfqmy6EgRGrUOSuK

If you're sitting on the October Surprise please share it. All the evidence we have suggests that Harris wants a ceasefire. While Trump wants a christo-fascist dictatorship and is content to watch Israel complete its genocide. The candidates have distinct positions despite your argument's attempt to conflate the two.

Harris "put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana."

Notably, the figures dropped dramatically during Harris’ tenure, from 817 marijuana-related admissions in her first year in office to 137 in her last.

She laughed because it was funny and I'm tired of people telling me it's not. 💥 🔫

She's been a prosecutor, senator, and now VP. She has the experience. She can speak in complete sentences. She is a neo-liberal but that was a given. All Democratic candidates since Clinton have been neo-liberals. The idea that Kamala is anti-progressive is false.

[-] ToastedPlanet 54 points 10 months ago

She was on the ticket 4 years ago. She is VP. Now she's on top. Kamala 2024!

[-] ToastedPlanet 48 points 10 months ago

Biden endorsed Kamala. =)

Accelerationism can only ensure the US gets to fascism faster. Getting to fascism faster doesn't destabilize the resulting christo-fascist regime. A fascist government will not just make it harder to make the US and the world a better place. Once the fascists take power they will actively work to make sure it is a worst place. A christo-fascist United States will actively harm everyone living in its sphere of influence and do nothing to put a check on other authoritarian dictatorships' spheres of influence.

Republicans winning elections sets us back decades. In this current election, our democracy is at stake. Neoliberalism has been pushing us in this direction for decades. We need a socialist political revolution to fix this. We need to keep our democracy long enough to perform a political revolution to change things for the better.

Lemmy is inundated with accelerationist rhetoric. When I was still on Reddit, I saw plenty of conservatives. The most striking thing I've noticed from arguing with people on both Reddit and Lemmy is the similarity between accelerationist rhetoric and conservative rhetoric. Both accelerationists and conservatives assert the US has never been a democracy and that the US system cannot be fixed. Both of these assertions are contradicted by US history. This is not to say that these are the same group of people. What these false assertions highlight is that neither group values democracy.

These next months leading to the election are essential, as that as when people are going to start checking in to the current election cycle. Progressives cannot afford to be silent leading up to the election. Democracy, even one as flawed as ours with its undermining of majority rule, is our most effective vehicle for progressive change that we have.

People who do not value our democracy are going to troll, sea lion, and generally act in bad faith. The common internet adage, don't feed the trolls, is not going to help us. People will act in bad faith in a vacuum. They know they need to spread their message the farthest and the fastest to see their ideology realized in this election. Progressives need to spread our message further and faster than them if our political revolution is to succeed. Progressives do not need to interact with every internet troll they encounter. But progressives must find ways to be vocal which sometimes involves engaging with bad faith actors.

A Colorado judge has ruled that former President Donald Trump “engaged in an insurrection” on January 6, 2021, but rejected an attempt to remove him from the state’s 2024 primary ballot, finding that the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban” doesn’t apply to presidents

Wallace concluded that “Trump engaged in an insurrection on January 6, 2021 through incitement, and that the First Amendment does not protect Trump’s speech” at the Ellipse that day. She also found that Trump “acted with the specific intent to disrupt the Electoral College certification of President Biden’s electoral victory through unlawful means.”

The provision explicitly bans insurrectionists from serving as US senators, representatives, and even presidential electors – but it does not say anything about presidents. It says it covers “any office, civil or military, under the United States,” and Wallace ruled that this does not include the office of the presidency.

“After considering the arguments on both sides, the Court is persuaded that ‘officers of the United States,’ did not include the President of the United States,” she wrote. “It appears to the Court that for whatever reason the drafters of Section Three did not intend to include a person who had only taken the Presidential Oath.”

Please reread the article. I've quoted the relevant sections. The ruling has nothing to do with Trump needing to be convicted. The judge explicitly states that she believes that the office of the president is not covered by the phrase "any office, civil or military, under the United States" and therefore is not covered by section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment.

This ruling benefits Trump to the detriment of us all. The ruling seems to be grounded in the idea that the president is above the law. This ruling is a symptom of the fascist movement that is trying to take over our country. We can not afford to misunderstand this ruling. We need to see it for what it is, another blow to the foundations of our democracy. edit: typo

I've had some interesting and insightful conversations with people from Hexbear for the last few days. However, we did reach a point where people from Hexbear started defending the Taliban and North Korea. There are tankies on Hexbear. Probably a lot of them. It's something people should know.
