I'm pretty sure I have the same thing. People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them cucumber has a strong, awful taste. I've had so many people tell me "cucumber just tastes like crunchy water" but it's SO strong to me.

There's a conversation starter that has popped up in a couple of my friend groups that is similar to this, basically "what movies would be improved by all but one actor being replaced by muppets?" They're both fairly mid imo, but definitely don't deserve anything like the nuclear hate they got. Alterbridge is pretty great, all the good parts of Creed without Scott Stapp grunting all over everything.
