Weird, spoiler tag didn't work for me.

[-] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 18 points 10 months ago

Spoiler tags are very unstandardized between the different UIs. It workson the web ui

[-] modifier@lemmy.ca 6 points 10 months ago

Yeah I figured as much. I'm viewing this on sync for android.

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 7 points 10 months ago

The Americans have taken Baghdad, that's what happened.

[-] BlueLineBae@midwest.social 35 points 10 months ago

I've been thoroughly enjoying these memes. They remind me a lot of when shittymorph would get you with the undertaker bit. Except now I'll be looking at cool science charts that are genuinely interesting only to find someone snuck in a sneaky Saddam.

[-] zcd@lemmy.ca 35 points 10 months ago

The interesting thing about the scientific charts that have been used in these memes is how they often twist or oversimplify data while trying to hide Saddam Hussein to create a humorous effect. Although the scientific accuracy may be in question, please don't let this take away from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and he fell 16 feet through an announcer’s table

[-] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

Oh boy, I really miss some of those accounts with comedy bits and I just assume they stopped posting when I left reddit so that I don't have the urge to go back and double check.

When Lemmy was first coming online I ran an aggressive stroganoff facts subscription account, It was a lot of work but very rewarding, learned A LOT about stroganoff

[-] Angry_Autist@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

... it's hard to imagine that there would be a lot to learn about stroganoff...

[-] zcd@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Thank you for confirming your subscription to beef stroganoff facts, where we send you daily fun facts about BEEF STROGANOFF! Did You know that beef stroganoff is named after the STROGANOVS, a highly successful Russian family of merchants, industrialists, landowners and statesman who were prominent during the reign of IVAN the TERRIBLE?

[-] thanks_shakey_snake@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

Okay that's one. But there gotta be like... what, 3 more tops?

[-] zcd@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Looks like you are interested in beef STROGANOFF! Thank you for confirming your subscription to beef stroganoff facts, where we send you daily fun facts about BEEF STROGANOFF! Did you know that in 1891 the French chef Charles Briere submitted a recipe for beef stroganoff to a competition sponsored by the French magazine L’ART CULINAIRE leading to the assumption that he was the inventor, but both the recipe and name existed before then!

Tbf, a lot of the novelty accounts died off by the time we all moved to lemmy. Sr grafo and shitty watercolor are the only ones I remember popping up regularly. I do miss the jumper cables guy thought. RIP

Reminds me of a prank I have read about: someone scanned a large WiW poster, photoshopped Wally out, and had it printed. Then he used it to keep the kids busy during a family gathering.

[-] cholesterol@lemmy.world 19 points 10 months ago
[-] squid_slime@lemm.ee 15 points 10 months ago

I found him, only because I had this book as a child.

[-] Visstix@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

Why did you have sadam hussein in that book?

[-] Entertainmeonly 5 points 10 months ago

Thank you for pointing out someone added Sadam. I had to do a "Where's Sadam" double take. I didn't get the title at first but now it makes sense.

I found him because I recently saw a video on the most optimal path to search based on where he's usually found.

[-] rustyfish@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

Isn’t this the one with the tits in it that had to be censored?

[-] TheRtRevKaiser@sh.itjust.works 19 points 10 months ago

This is the later version. In the original, this lady was topless.

[-] RacoonVegetable@reddthat.com 11 points 10 months ago

Can I uuuuuh…. Uhm… have the original version?

(Asking for a friend!)

[-] BlackPenguins@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Oh no! Not boobies. My impressionable mind!

Is this the one where Waldo doesn't have his hat, glasses, or cane? I remember that being a thing in at least 1 of the books.

Edit: I guess technically? I was over here lookin' for Waldo and not a middle-eastern dictator. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[-] pedz@lemmy.ca 12 points 10 months ago

So, where is Saddam Hussein?

[-] aodhsishaj@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

under the pyramid of people in the top right on his back in all red.

[-] Rhaedas@fedia.io 10 points 10 months ago

I know it's not the point, but this gives me anxiety. Not a fan of crowds at all. I would take one look and leave.

[-] billwashere@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Goddamit… I just spent like 3 minutes looking for him because my ADHD wouldn’t let me ignore it.

[-] Devdogg@lemmy.ml 4 points 10 months ago
[-] billwashere@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Yes. Or I wouldn’t have stopped looking. 🤣
