We really are at the point where doing what the allies (US) did in WW2 is unacceptable content huh?

Mockery of history

Yeah. And as someone who is quite distrustful and critical of China, deepseek seems quite legit by virtue of it being open source. Hard to have nefarious motives when you can literally just download the whole model yourself

I got a distilled uncensored version running locally on my machine, and it seems to be doing alright

Exactly haha. A poor person can say it to joke about themselves and their circumstances, a rich person doing so is just in poor taste..

Well, a browser is a massive piece of software, especially if you include the development of a render engine as Firefox does

Web standards evolve constantly, you need to keep up somehow, together with optimizations, bug fixing, patching of security vulnerabilities, etc

Imagine if we managed to make a translator for the speech of an animal, knowing what they say and being able to say something back. Literally speaking with animals. That would have been so amazing and revolutionizing.

Yeah, I'm sure this will create a wonderful society with no problems at all

Wealth and capitalism is anti-democratic. And this is a prime example.

Or maybe we should keep companies, which rake in billions of dollars, to a much higher standard??

Nvidia could be better at open-sourcing their stuff. But they don't. Blame them, not GPL.
