I'm sorry but I refuse to switch to an emulator that is not named after a citrus.

It's such an unfathomably bad idea to pirate things on company servers

I recently figured out my new setup, but one thing I've been struggling with are my wallpapers. I use 3 monitors, one 21:9 and two 16:9s, one of which is portrait. As a result, my wallpaper situation is messy since wallpapers for one don't work on the others. On my old setup, I just had a big folder of backgrounds I collected over the years set to be a sideshow using the default windows settings, and I'd like to do something similar, but with a specific folder for each monitor. I've tried the steam wallpaper engine, but to do that, I'd have to individually import each background as a new wallpaper which would be far too intensive given the volume.

I mean the eff can only do so much to defend people who didn't even fucking bother in the slightest to defend themselves and just rolled over at every turn

The devs just completely folded to some bogus copyright claims against their extentions

The problem, at least to me, is the wildly inconsistent application of the rules. Plenty of streamers have gotten bans for inappropriate content for far, far less than this, and been told to shove it when they tried to appeal. I can guarantee you nobody would be up in arms over this if twitch just treated it as a free for all, and didn't care if people streamed tits. The problem is that it isn't, and lots of people get banned, while the big thirst streamers get given a free pass on everything

Also, If this goes through, the "banned games" list is going to need some real pruning.

In a similar vein, I love my ps vita. Hacked, it's an absolutely amazing console, and is able to boast the "actually fits in my pocket" award.

Just in case you thought Newsom couldn't get any worse...

Prices don't make sense because you, as a regular person, don't see the overwhelming majority of what contributes to them.

For instance, I figure you aren't particularly familiar with the output quantity of various semiconductor factories around the world, the overall percentage that are good enough for high end computers, and how many different companies around the world need them for their products, and in what quantity. Or even on the consumer end, how different use cases effect demand, along with how the various brands stack up against each other in their current offerings.

I’m 25 years old.

No. The answer is no. Unless you were exclusively looking to date leonardo dicaprio, 25 is not too old

We seriously need to get spineless rats unwilling to stand up for anything out of congress and replace them with people actually willing to do anything other than hand the democrats the keys to making the country worse.

The sole moderator of this community has not visibily engaged on lemmy for 3 months, either in terms of moderating or contributing, and it's leading to an overall degradation in the community. I'd like to he added as a mod there, at least until the owner comes back, so that the community can be maintained at a decent level.

I always find this topic to be really interesting since there's no objectively correct answer, and it tends to be something people have experience with.

Obviously, the best answer is "let the player pick", but personally, I'm 100% in the inverted camp (both y and x axis, because apparently some maniacs only invert one). I have no idea where I picked up inverted controls, but I've favored them as long as I remember playing games, so I figure some early titles I played had inverted by default, which checks out since I played a lot of vehicle-based games.

For me, one of the worst experiences is realizing a game I really want to play only supports uninverted camera (or in the case of a couple, only supports inverted y), because it totally demolishes my ability to reasonably play the game with any degree of skill.

I get that it's a sort of silly question, but what would be the most proper designation for the ankou team panzer IV at the end of the series? It's usually referred to as a panzer IV ausf. H, because that's the standard it was upgraded to, but I've also seen other things like panzer IV ausf. D mod H, or similar names, so I'm curious what such a vehicle would be referred to officially if it were real, and whether or not such an upgrade was (or could have been) done irl.

It feels like they're some of the most obnoxious people on the planet because somehow whenever there's one of them saying dumb shit, there's like 5 more to jerk them off.

“I’m making 50k”. Great, now I have to guess - dollars? Monthly? Yearly? If yearly then what’s the monthly paycheck? Net? Gross?

Unless you just stepped of your alien spaceship and have never interacted with societal conventions before, these are all fairly consistent. If you're in a country, you're almost certainly getting paid in the local currency. Annual pay is typically listed for various reasons though tradition is a big one, your pay period will also be specified whether monthly, weekly, two weeks, or whatever, and it's listed before taxes since the business has no clue what your personal income tax looks like.

And on the contrary, what makes sense about monthly that doesn't about yearly? I don't get paid monthly, and years to 2 week pay periods is far easier than months to 2 week pay periods.

I hate the term review bombing. Because guess what. Any review not left under false premises is an entirely legitimate opinion on the media. If someone thinks a movie or game is bottom of the barrel trash because of some small aspect, they're entirely within their right to have that opinion, and it's no less legitimate than someone who likes it more.
