https://github.com/keiyoushi/extensions I found this external repo. you guys might take a look
Fresh install, it works! Extensions are required to be "trusted" but other than that everything seems to be in the same place.
Sadly, some of mangas are missing. So, I need to redownload the mangas again
Do you need to reinstall the extensions for this? I can't get it to work with TachiyomiSY. Edit: maybe some extra context: TachiyomiSY is still attempting to fetch stuff from the removed repo, even though I've added the new one, so it still fails.
Unofficial extensions are still being updated. I've got working bato and everything. Haven't run into issues so far. I'm not sure how this korean company got to them or why, since they're not even hosting the content. But either way, things should be good for now.
Tachiyomi is too good to fail. It's the best manga reader that has ever existed. It's open source. If they need to offload extension support onto less organized entities, then so be it. The community isn't going to disappear.

They just sent a hail mary DCMA directly to the devs that's not even enforceable. If it was, they'd have to go through GitHub with a DCMA request. But the Tachiyomi devs folded for no reason
But the Tachiyomi devs folded for no reason
Easy to say when you’re not the one getting the notice/threat
I found another spare for repo. if the current alt goes down https://github.com/ThePBone/tachiyomi-extensions-revived
Hey, really glad to see you coming here!
I found another spare for repo. if the current alt goes down https://github.com/ThePBone/tachiyomi-extensions-revived
I use batoto extension (revived) from this repo, it works on TachiyomiJ2K. Not sure with the latest Tachiyomi
Used this for Batoto and Mangadex. Works for TachiyomiSY
Lol they might as well just shut down at this point. Without extensions Tachiyomi is basically a non-app.
I think their strategy is fine to avoid any potential lawsuits like Paperback. But, their notice period is quite surprising.
Yes but just because they dont want to deal with the hastle doesnt mean others wont keep supporting it. Especially in the manga-space where stealing is very much an everyday occurrance
Tachiyomi Alternatives:
- Mangayomi - https://github.com/kodjodevf/mangayomi
- Very similar to Tachiyomi
- Also with anime sources
- Doesn't support Tachiyomi backup import
- Kotatsu - https://github.com/KotatsuApp/Kotatsu
- Doesn't support Tachiyomi backup import
- Neko - https://github.com/CarlosEsco/Neko
- MangaDex only
PS: I'll update the list if find more.
What was the Kakao dispute?
The devs just completely folded to some bogus copyright claims against their extentions
Time to set up a Komga server, I guess.
If you don't already have one, use Kavita instead. It's newer, has surpassed the Komga interface, and is still supported on T.
What do you mean newer? And Komga is also still supported
Oh, Komga is good, I just find everything about Kavita to be more modern. More options for layouts, deeper filtering, tablet and more phone friendly UI, etc.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Where are you guys sourcing your manga? I've bought a few on Amazon and converted them to epub. I also have some raws from bookwalker but as far as I can tell their stuff is super locked down. Where else could I acquire manga?
I use Kobo
What a sad day to wake up.
What does this mean? Are they gonna remove all extensions just like that? We have to download the mangas now just to read them?
Yes. Tachiyomi has removed all extensions from the app. Forks like TachiJ2K are affected as well. However, you can still download and use the existing extensions. They've been backed up to some external repos. Just choose the new repos as the extension source and you're good to go. But as they're not getting fixes and such anymore, those existing extensions will only continue to work until they don't anymore. After that, idk, maybe some new extensions will be developed by someone else, or you'll just have to bring your own content.
What is a good fork?
TachiyomiJ2K is what I use.
yeah, the main repo on Github have been deleted. we have to rely on external sources.
I did an export/archive of the Git repo from a commit before they got rid of Batoto and Mangadex right after they nuked them (ie, no Git data, just the bare source code) yesterday morning. I'd be willing to share it with someone willing to rehost/restart development on them.
thanks, we have 2 active alt repo so far. the third backup repo is most welcome
What an unfortunate (or maybe fortunate?) time to have installed Tachiyomi for offline reading
I guess I should be glad I was able to get what I needed before this happened
Will this affect aniyomi?
all tachyomi derivatives that use that central repo will be affected
I didn't update the app and all my installed extensions work fine. What's the MO for now? Update and re-add the extensions or just chill?
it will be better if you start moving to third party repo because those old extensions will be unmaintained by tachiyomi dev
I see, ya that makes sense, thanks
I am a Komga user because finding comics is a mess for me (in Spanish) but I am surprised at how easy it is to find manga with Tachiyomi/Aniyomi (I think the latter has the extensions broken for a while).
