Could be, for sure. I may try to post some things from Lemmy.ca to Kbin later. I was successful in posting from Kbin to Lemmy.ca a few hours ago, so I wonder if there's a problem in the other direction.

Lee's is basically the sweet spot of flavour vs affordability for me. I can't speak to Cartem's, I don't have the money to justify the cost.

Interesting background to the facts of the deceased person, which leads me to suspect that the story of his death will also be of some interest.

I don't know. There seems to be some openness on Mastodon to bots that are properly labelled as such, in my experience. I'd say open a bot account here and use it to give the crossposting a shot. Anyone who doesn't like it can easily block the bot account and move on with their day.

Yeah yeah. My only point is that this is messy as hell, and not about to get any tidier.

Huffman said in an interview that he plans to institute rules changes that would allow Reddit users to vote out moderators who have overseen the protest, comparing them to a “landed gentry.”

There's a pretty good YouTube video from this guy out of Toronto (I think) who talked about these a week or so ago.

When Heidi Starr went to her daughter’s track and field meet in Kelowna last week, she thought she’d be cheering her child on—not shielding her from misdirected transphobia.

I'm actually surprised this made it to third reading already! If you look at the city's most recent list of major development projects, there are more than a few projects that have been languishing for years since their second reading. That's actually why I posted this -- I fully expected third reading for this project to take much longer than one year.

If Reddit were to back down from their API gamesmanship, I'd probably stick with Infinity, as it's a great app and easily my favorite 3P Reddit app.

I don't expect Reddit will back down, so in all likelihood I will miss both this service and this app. Damn shame.

Also, there used to be another UBC community on a different instance, but that seems to have closed.

"The new regulations are meant to cut the "carbon intensity" of automotive fuels sold on the Canadian market — how much they generate in emissions for a given amount of energy. Unlike the current rules, the new ones cover the entire life cycle of fuels, from production and transport to consumption.

The goal is to push companies that produce or import fuel to gradually reduce the emissions intensity of that process by setting a ceiling and dropping it each year. By 2030, the rules will require a 15 per cent cut in emissions intensity compared to 2016 levels."

See final paragraph - set to be the tallest building in Western Canada. The article focuses on the 14 stories of underground parking that will be included, which does seem excessive given that the SkyTrain is literally across the street.

I don't live in either, but I do enjoy biking through some parts of Ladner occasionally. The area seems too remote for me overall, and sprawled out enough that I'd probably need to drive more if I lived there.

Definitely Civ VI for me as well. I'm stressed out by some work obligations lately, and nothing relaxes me more than coming home and sending some giant death robots to obliterate a few cities now and again.

If you're looking at the older ones, I've got a soft spot for Civ IV. The smooth dulcet tones of Leonard Nimoy reading historical quotes every few turns are always a plus.
