You understand that recalls for minor non life-threatening issues were a thing before cars were even capable of receiving software updates right?

This is not a new practice. This is what a recall entails. The term isn’t being arbitrarily applied. It’s a recall.

It’s crazy that anyone would think he can and should be allowed to run for President again. The 14th Amendment is quite clear. And the man incited a violent insurrection to install himself as a dictator during what was a purely symbolic procedure. Trump lost, Biden won. Counting the electoral votes on 1/6 was a formality. There was no actual way for him to remain in office so he betrayed the nation by attempting to destroy democracy as we know it in this country. The only place he belongs in 2024 is ADX Florence.

Two months to the day after the coup attempt. His number was up the second he stopped advancing on Moscow.

Yep it sucks because I think it’s Kevin Smith’s best work but I do respect him for refusing to buy the rights back or arrange for a deal for streaming rights because it would be giving Bob and Harvey Weinstein money.

For anyone unaware, the film had a complicated release because there was a lot of controversy surrounding Dogma, particularly from the Catholic League, who were pissy about being made fun of. So Disney, who owned Miramax at the time, allowed Bob and Harvey Weinstein to buy the movie themselves. So they personally own Dogma.

Every last one of these traitors should have to spend the rest of their lives behind bars. They need to be made examples of so that coups are not attempted every time a republican loses from now on. Because the terrifying reality is it would only take one succeeding to permanently end democracy as we know it in the United States.

Unfortunately, I’m sure many of them will flip on Trump for lenient sentences. But I’m hopeful even in that scenario they will still at least face some considerable time in prison.

duplicates or otherwise non engaging accounts.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if duplicate accounts are a part of this but that seems like it would be a natural part of growing pains for lemmy. The way the fediverse is built would suggest that people who are serious about long-term participation may bounce around a bit. For example, I joined in June but in that time I still managed to test out two other instances before settling on a third that seemed to strike the ideal balance between admin policies and reliable uptime to suit my needs.

Hmm... I think we need to conduct some exit interviews to gather data before we start making any assumptions.

"Hello, you have selected 'Delete Account' is this because you are a Nazi?"

Y/N (circle one)

"You have selected 'no' and yet you still wish to delete your account? Why are you lying about not being a Nazi then?"

If he didn't want multiple criminal trials to interfere with his political ambitions then perhaps he shouldn't have committed all those felonies?

Hell, he probably lied to his lawyers, too.

I don't think there's any "probably" about it lol. If Trump's talking he's lying. That's just how it works.
