Le 19 juin 2025, les habitant.e.s de 11, 15 et 17 Place des Augustins se sont réunis pour la deuxième assemblée de leur association Voisin.e.s de la Place des Augustins. Ils ont décidé le lancement d’une pétition contre la résiliation de tous les baux par la Zurich Assurance pour l’été 2026, la destruction de leur immeuble et l’absence totale de relogement prévu en cas d’aboutissement du projet.

L’immeuble de 74 logements et deux cafés-restaurants est voué à la démolition par la Zurich, qui en profitera pour augmenter massivement les loyers et poursuivre la disparation des quartiers populaires de centre ville. Une fois de plus, une immense entreprise multi-propriétaire entend maximiser ses profits aux détriments des habitant.e.s.

He is now held under administrative detention by the cantonal police, who intends to keep him several nights in custody until they deport him out of the country next week.

While most consultations last for 12 weeks, this one runs for eight, half of which cover the holiday period – it closes on 18 August. The intention is set out at the beginning: to reduce “costs to business”. This, as repeated statements by Keir Starmer make clear, means tearing up the rules.
